New Roomba, Big Disappointment: My 2019 Model Outperforms T
We bought this Roomba during the Black Friday sale of 2025 and it has been nothing but frustration. Our older 2019 original Roomba works far better than this new model, which is disappointing considering the price and newer technology. The system constantly malfunctions. Even after cleaning everything carefully: wiping the sensors, emptying the bin, checking for debris, it keeps saying the docking station is full when it isn't. It often claims it can't map the room, even though our Wi-Fi is strong and the software is fully updated. We've tried every fix: unplugging and resetting the dock, reconnecting the app, restarting the unit, nothing solves the problem. Another issue is the audio. The docking station is extremely loud, like a small airplane, which we are fine with, but the robot's voice is so quiet you can't hear what it's trying to tell you. The app also glitches and doesn't communicate clearly with the vacuum and mop. The mop solution doesn't smell very pleasant, but you're limited to using their brand because of the technology in the machine. They state that any other cleaner could damage the system. For the cost, we expected a reliable upgrade, not something worse than our older model that has been through years of use and still works perfectly. Right now we've gone back to using the old Roomba and are just moving it room to room because this new one can't do its job. I would honestly recommend choosing the original, less expensive version. Less technology is far superior. The higher-priced models don't perform nearly as well, and the simpler, cheaper Roomba will likely last you far longer than two months without constant issues. Save your money and go with what actually works.

Worst Roomba Ever.... and i mean it
This Roomba 100 (1000) series Vac/combo robot - SKU -Q352020 - Serial Number Q352020N250801N100983 - has the following problems and I have reached out to IRobot but they offer no help and support. 1) First 90 days the robot worked ok, it continued to get lost and it would stop randomly in the middle of the floor "looking for home" and we would just pick it up and put it on the charger - but this robot would de-dock and move off the charger then sit there running "looking for home" then run out of battery 2) after trying to reposition it numerous times to other locations so it can find it's home it still gets within 6" and tries to dock 6-7 times before running out of battery. Then when it is put back on the charger - it de-docks and runs out of battery again. 3) the vacuum performs poorly on carpet and ok on hardwood 4) the rollers are very sensitive to hair and wrap around the rollers - i am constantly cleaning the rollers. My biggest complaint iRobot is that i traded in a older model that worked well for the rebate and the newer version and now i am left with this constant issues.

Real junk
I had an earlier model. Not sure of which number but I decided to upgrade to the 705. It has never once emptied. It's been into the base. It has the same bag I put in it the day I bought it. And their tech support and customer service is practically non-existent. You can forget about getting a refund. They successfully dodged that bullet

Fast Mapping, Strong Suction, Truly Deep Cleans
I'm really impressed with the Roomba 405. It mapped my entire floor in about 20 minutes, which is a big improvement over my Roomba j5 that took almost an hour for the same area. The suction is strong and does a good job picking up everyday dust and debris, and the live map is very responsive, so it's easy to see where it has cleaned in real time. While it can miss some very small objects that the LiDAR doesn't catch, its deep cleaning feature really stands out and leaves the floors noticeably cleaner after a full run.

Product was excellent until software update.
Purchased the 505 Combo in June of 2025. The robot worked great until December of 2025 when according to the Roomba App for my unit there was a software update. At that point, when the unit was in mop only mode or Vacuum and then Mop mode the unit would no longer cross a simple throw rug to get to where I told it to clean. I called customer support, they told me it was because of where it was located, even though it worked fine for six months. I moved it to another location and remapped my house, it still wouldn't work. I called customer support again and got Andre. He told me the unit was defective. I told him and the previous support person about the software update. It made no difference. He arrange to have another Roomba 505 sent to me under warranty. While the couple days for that, I tried the vacuum only function as well as the vacuum and mop function. Both those options worked fine. After about 5 days the new Roomba 505 Combo came. I installed it to my existing dock as instructed and had a bad feeling when the app said it was downloading the latest Roomba 505 software. I the. Had it map my house and immediately tried it. It failed exactly as the last one did. It would not cross a simple throw/area rug while in Mop Only or Vacuum and then Mop mode. It worked just fine in Vacuum Only mode and Vacuum and Mop mode. Exactly the same issue. I called customer Support again and got Xavier. After explaining and being put on hold several times and then resending via email videos of the old unit and the new unit not working and then sending another photo of its new location, I was told to move the unit to a third location. Which I did even though it is a very unfavorable place for me to put it, right in the way in our living room and I had to send him another picture of its new location. He confirmed it was in a great place now. I tried it and it still won't cross an area/throw rug. No difference. They want me to remove my rugs for a software issue

I long for my very first original Roomba!! this is the 3rd model I have tried and it doesn't pick up the dog hair even 1 day after a manual vacuum with a shark upright. The pictures show it 8ndeed GATHERS the hair but it doesn't PICK it up. Returning another one

the APP is shocking!!
I cant believe they launched this APP as the updated version - it is awful and loses so much functionality. They should just revert to the original. Very disappointed, as this is likely to affect me keeping the vacuum.

Tank leaks - roller pops out
We bought this robot with high hopes, now I highly recommend you spend the money elsewhere. The water tank leaks constantly - we have to keep a towel under the base and change it out every day so it doesn't continue to ruin the floor. That happens IF you can get the water supply tube inside the tank to stay attached, otherwise - no water - no worries! Also finding that the mop pads pop off about once a week when it transitions from wood to area rug. So that's a super cool feature! The green roller brush also pops out of the bottom of the robot found 1 stand too much of our Golden Retrievers fur. Not sure if we got a faulty unit or what - but I wish we would have bought something else - now we're stuck with this.

I would not suggest this product to anyone . It's crap
It worked for the first month then all the issues started happening . Now roomba says sorry I'll give you $100.00 towards a new one . This was almost 2k I paid for and doesn't work at all . You will experience the cover copper prongs not making contact anymore and will cause you roomba not to work anymore no matter how many times you try tix fix it your self . Roomba doesn't care or stand beside their products. So be careful before you spend 2k for something that will only last you a couple of months. I'm better off just using my Dyson vacuum works way better than this piece of crap

Stay Away From If You Don't Want To Lose Your Mind
I replaced my Roborock with this Roomba Max 705. I researched before buying. I wanted something that could connect to dual WiFi bands. What a mistake that was. Here I am. Exactly 30 days later with it packed back up and ready to go back. This was the worst purchase ever. After the warranty and IDme discounts it was just over $700. I spent more time fighting with this robot because it would spin in circles 'finding home' to charge. Meanwhile it was home already. I recorded it for over 3 minutes before I finally walked away while it did this last night. I even stopped it and put it on home to charge. But it would go back out, across the house to find home, back to the charger and spin again randomly in circles. It doesn't clean under all furniture like my Roborock did. So I still had to get out the stick vac and do under TV stand and coffee table and under raised pet beds. There was plenty of space for it to do so, it just wouldn't. It never got into the corners or under cabinets. So pet hair and dirt would collect there. I was constantly having to reset it because it was always showing an error on the app. The app is also useless. I would walk in the laundry room where his home was and he would be sitting 4' away from where he should be, not charging. I could never see the history. Because my robot always 'needed attention' don't waste your money. It also takes 3 hours to clean vs 58 minutes of my previous vac. Yes, I understand that a dual network can take longer, but this vacuum was never on the 5GHz network and didn't cover as much area as my previous one due to the areas it just refused to cover. I'm going back to Roborock. They have a much better product that actually works.

Junk and customers service is equally bad
This the second unit I have, first one started making clicking noises and going in circles. Called customer service and through all the tech support they sent a new unit. The current unit worked for about two months, now it stopped working, called tech support , they went through several steps even factory resetting the unit , and it won't even create a map now. They said they would escalate this and to watch emails. This happened on Saturday the 18th, today we get an email telling us we need to go to the app and report what is going on so they can get engineers to look at it. My response is simple- I spent two hours on the phone Saturday and I'm not reporting something they already documented. They suck at customer service, don't care about the customer if fixing things the right way. Add after finding near $1,000 for a vacuum . Don't buy as you will regret it

Awesome vacuum!
We just upgraded to the 705, this being our 3rd Roomba upgrade. This machine is awesome, the lidar system makes this unit work so smoothly it's amazing. Our previous models would bang into various items in the rooms, this unit senses items in its path and smoothly cleans up to that item doing a great cleaning.

Short battery life, floor still dirty, close to blender loud
Got for a wedding gift and it is terrible. Comically loud, and you have to pick up every small thing or it sucks it up and stalls out, or drives up on it and gets stuck. If you do pick every little thing up, it takes 6+ hours to clean on the standard level and 12+ hours on the deep clean. This is on a ~1200 sqft area. After all of that, the floors are not very clean, still visible strings and pet hair on rugs. Really surprised it was this bad.
