A: No it comes without a base. You do not need a base with this car seat because the latches are already built in.
submitted byNia - 2 years ago
A: The mint latch™ is a baseless car seat. It can be installed as easily (or easier) as a base by rotating the rigid LATCH out and clicking on your vehicle's anchor points. When installing using any method, make sure the car seat is level, and the indicators on the LATCH connectors are green. Do not install with both LATCH and the seat belt, choose only one means of installation.

Q: Has anyone tried to lay their newborn flat in the stroller by laying the back all the way down? Is it safe to do so?

A: I feel like it’s safe. We’ve used it from when baby was only 1 week old and had no concerns with it.

A: I have been laying my newborn in it. One of my favorite features is, after laying it flat, you can pull up the end of it to block baby from sliding out the bottom. Or I can clip it back down when my toddler rides in the stroller in the upright position. Obviously, with a brand new baby I put things around her to ensure she isn’t rolling all over the place. I even put my snuggleme organic in it once when we took it for a long stroll in Waikiki! Baby slept through everything!!

A: Thanks for reaching out. The nutmeg stroller can be used from birth on it's own or with a joie infant car seat as a travel system. To use the stroller from birth the seat must be fully reclined, the calf-support must be fully raised and the closure flaps attached.

A: Why should you not use both? Wouldnt using both just provide more security? Having just the anchors locked in, it does not keep the other side of the seat from lifting up off of the seat.
submitted by0117 - 8 months ago
A: Thanks for reaching out! When installing the mint latch baseless infant car seat, you can use the built-in lower anchor attachments OR the vehicle seat belt. Never use both methods of installation simultaneously.

A neutral brown color like Maple can actually be a wonderful choice. It is timeless and versatile, so it goes well with accent colors like dusty pink and lavender :) Your little girl will be in style for years to come.

Q: How can you measure/decide if the mint infant car seat -maple is compatible with/fits correctly in your vehicle?
submitted by Maddie - 1 year ago
A: Thank you for your question. The mint latch is a baseless infant car seat that can be installed using most cars' rigid lower anchor attachments. The vehicle manufacturer determines the dimensions and specifications of the lower anchors in your car, which can vary from car to car. You should measure from the middle of each anchor point in your vehicle; if it is approximately 11 inches, the mint latch should fit. If you can not use the lower anchor attachments in a car, you can still install the mint latch without a base using the vehicle seat belt.

Q: Does the travel system also have the "newborn nest" that secures the foot support when folded up for recline shown on the standalone stroller?
submitted by Laura - 2 years ago
A: Yes it does have a newborn nest on this version.
submitted byEm - 2 years ago
A: All nutmeg™ strollers, whether sold alone or as a travel system, have the newborn nest (or occupant retention).
This travel system has garnered mixed feedback from guests, highlighting its lightweight design and ease of use as major advantages. Many appreciate the baseless car seat feature, which allows for quick transitions between vehicles. However, concerns about the stroller's durability and storage space have been noted. Overall, it offers a convenient solution for parents on the go, especially for those who prioritize portability and ease of assembly.

ZERO quams! Mom of 3.
It only took me 3 kids and 4 different travel systems to find the perfect system. I absolutely love this. My favorite feature is that the stroller leans all the way back and into bassinet mode. No need for a whole other seat that has to be attached while theyre a newborn!! Just one stroller that has every function. The mint latch is also my most favorite invention maybe ever. I have zero quams with this system. It looks cute to push around too.

Good but Lacks Storage Space
Our little one is 6 weeks old and we have used this stroller at least twice a week since bringing him home. We love the ease of folding it up and the size. The downside is that it does not fit our diaper bag. The space under the stroller is very limited. We love the baseless car seat. That is the best part of this travel system. It is so easy to get in and out of the car and transfer between vehicles.

Avoid!
My baby was in the 5 lb range and had severe head slump in this seat. She failed the car seat test at the hospital. I wanted to like this so much because of the built in latch connection. But I don’t think it should be sold at all. Certainly not labeled for 4lbs and up. We got the Chico Key Fit Max and baby looked way better and we were not worried about brain damage or death from lack of oxygen. Avoid.

the wheels are terrible
i like everything about this system except for the wheels. i wanted the other reviews to be wrong, but they aren’t: after two weeks of light use on city sidewalks the wheels are already missing chunks. only get this stroller if you plan to use it for things like going into stores, as its small size is quite convenient for that. i also looked for replacement wheels on amazing but no luck yet. sad to say this was an expensive fail.

Love love love
My baby is 2 months and we use her car seat multiple times a day. I can absolutely say there is nothing negative about it. The seat is easily cleaned with a baby wipe which has been a life saver. Set up was easy and the latch system is beyond amazing.

LOVE this product -Easy, Lightweight, & Affordable
This is the best and easiest travel system! We travel quite a bit on the road and abroad, so I did lots of research to find the best travel system before purchasing this one. I compared this to the popular Nuna brand (my sister has) which is super heavy and everything has to be purchased separately. PLUS Joie is significantly more economical. Both the stroller and the carseat are lightweight, which helps with lifting a growing baby. The carseat attaches easily in any car. The stroller can be collapsed one handed. The carseat fits snug on the stroller. I've now flown with my 9 month old 3 times by myself. I rolled her through the airport in the full stroller/carseat and checked both carseat and stroller at the gate. The only criticisms I have is that the cupholder comes off easily and has gotten lost a couple of times and the canopy/ sunshade fabric touches your hands when you're pushing the stroller if you have the canopy open - more of a personal preference. Otherwise, we are so happy with this product and will be sad when she outgrows it.

Not worth it
Honestly it’s like any other expensive brand we just pay for the name . It’s cheap material it get fast rips . Overall it’s real lightweight and easy to use . Comfortable for baby . But I’ve had other strollers that have lasted years being tossed and left outside and what not and they stayed in better condition then this one in just 2 months of use . And all I did is load it in and out of my car . Do I recommend sure but is it worth it , no lol

I am beyond frustrated with this system. It has tipped twice causing my infant to hit his head. I am actively seeing if I have legal grounds here. The guides to assist with the baseless system are very diffcult to attach to the hooks inside the car. The stroller itself does not have an option to face you, the visor on the stroller does not provide adequate coverage from the sun, and the storage space is VERY limited. I wish I went with my gut and stuck with Graco.

Good, But Not Amazing
We loved this system initially. It’s cute, the car seat installs super easily, and the near full recline was perfect for the short-lived newborn time when that was necessary. I would hate to spend hundreds on a separate bassinet to use it for that short of a time. However, I will say the car seat did not last us as long as we anticipated. Our son is 9 months and just hit 30”, but we couldn’t get him to fit properly in the seat for months now because the belt does not extend out far enough, and he’s nowhere near the weight limit. That’s not even considering extra length for ease of putting them in the car seat and then tightening. We had to loosen all the way and squeeze him in. I would recommend choosing a system that accommodates taller babies, even if it means having a car seat with a base. By the way, all car seats can be baseless. This one is just easy to pop in.

Disappointed in canopy and Rue
I love the Nutmeg stroller, except for the non-extendable canopy! I did a lot of research and thought purchasing the travel system you got the better extendable canopy… As for the Rue car seat, it’s lightweight but the material started to pill only after three months of light use. I would not recommend the Rue.
