Stopped working day 1 of use. Beautiful color went from being so happy to being so sad. Since have noticed reviews of many with same issue therefore didn’t even want to try to replace. I’m not confident in Target return that it was flagged as something does not work, I mentioned but wasn’t clear they were noting that. With so many reported issues they should be pulled from the shelves until manufacturer can determine which may actually work.

Do not buy this mixer. It's known for having issues. I ordered it and it Worked for literally one second and then shut off. I had to return it and bought the artisan model instead.

Took the mixer out of the box. Turned it on, it worked. Went to actually use it for Thanksgiving dinner and it lasted five seconds and died. Wish I read the reviews first, but it's a KitchenAid stand mixer. Didn't think it was necessary. I had my last for 15 years and it still worked, just wanted something slightly different.

Always wanted one of these and finally got it. They’re everything their cracked up be. Easy to use. Powerful. Easy to clean. Used it a lot for all the Thanksgiving recipes. Have found anything I don’t love.

Stopped within seconds of first use. I had my old KitchenAid Mixer for over 12 years but I guess they don't make them the same anymore :( . not sure that I want to get another after reading all the reviews of the same exact thing happening to so many people

Defective Run!
Bought the KitchenAid KSM55 5.5 Qt Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer for $299.99 on Black Friday Special. It powered on and spun in an empty bowl. Added softened butter to start creaming — motor instantly lost all power and shut off completely. Would not turn back on. Dead the second it had to do any real work. Exchanged the next morning. The Story Continues the second was defective as well. Seperate reviews are deserved.

Fraudulent promotion, won't get your full refund
My experience with target regarding this order was just horrible. Target offered a promotional gift card of $30 for purchase of this item. They dont tell you that they are going to reduce the total order by $30 and charge you separately for the gift card. So when I returned the item because it wasn't what I wanted, they only partially refunded me and refused to take their so called promotional gift card back and refund my $30. Now i'm stuck with a $30 target gift card i did not purchase. I was wrongly charged for it and cant use because target doesn't carry the style of mixer i want and I am short $30 for my next purchase. Thieves, why offer the promotion if its not free. The fact that you are a big company doesn't mean you should steal from us and get away with it. This is unacceptable and you know it.

DO BOT BUY!!!! Worked fine during a test run, when I went to actually make something, it stopped working after 30 seconds. Tried multiple outlets after letting it cool down for two hours, and it never started again. So disappointed.

2 Broken mixers in a row
Literally used it one time and it died mid mixing mash potatoes. I returned it and exchanged it for the same one. Broke the first use mixing flour, eggs, salt and water for pasta.

Defective
So the reviews about this being defective are right. I bought one last night and it ran for 30 seconds and then died and so I exchanged it this morning and had the same problem again. However I ended up calling Kitchen Aid customer service and they were amazing and super helpful and are sending me a new one from their warehouse. Purchase at your own discretion

Got one as a gift and it stopped working within 4 minutes of use. I exchanged it and the new one worked the first time but broke on the 2nd use. Super disappointed because I really really wanted to love it but I can't love it if it is just junk.
