Q: Does this only accept large quantities of flour / baking goods? In other words, if I want to make a single batch of cookies (~2 cups flour, 2 eggs, 1.5 cup sugar) would this mixer still work well?

A few years ago I purchased a mixer as a gift for my mom. She's always baking but her old standard mixer had seen too many years and needed to retire. I bought her a kitchenaid with extra tools and she loves it. We've made egg noodles which is traditional side dish for thanksgiving and they came out perfect. She loves it and so do I.

I have had this for almost 2 years and about 6 months ago, the motor already started going out on me. It just shuts off once it gets to the third or fourth speed setting

What an incredible disappointment. My last Kitchen Aid Mixer died after 10 years of good use. I upgraded to the Artisan Line hoping this could handle the dough mixing form my pizza and sourdough mixes. From the very beginning it just whined and after 10 minutes on just speed 1 the motor felt warm and it had a slight smell of overheating. This machine is supposed to be a Beast, what has happened to the quality.

Beware they use plastic gears in their mixers- they are called sacrificial gears. The only mixers that have metal ones are their commercial mixers as far as I am aware. When I purchased my mixer i also purchased a 3-year warranty which KitchenAid somehow never sent the money to the warranty folks. Give you one guess who's mixer now needs to be repaired Supposed to receive a refund but have not gotten it yet - it was submitted 5-27-25 it is now 7-2-25

I really like my kitchen aid. Mine isn't exactly like this one, but kitchen aids are made very well and are durable!! I like them for there ease of use and clean up. Definitely would recommend this above other mixers!!

This lift stand mixer is so much easier to use and more stable than the tilt-head style. It handles bread dough really well, yet can whip up cream with ease.. if looking for a KitcheAid, this is the model that gets it all done.
