Christmas present for my brother. I was a little nervous because, when googling cast iron skillets, KitchenAid is not usually listed. I took a chance because it looked so beautiful with the rounded bottom and sides. It was an excellent choice!! This skillet is not just a pretty face! It has excellent and even heat retention. You will be happy you took the chance.

Steak and onions on this pan have been our favorite, with the pan being pre-seasoned nothing sticks and meat and veggies have been so tender! If you don’t know or have time to pre-season your skillets, I’d highly recommend this one. Cleaning is also a breeze!

It's very easy to clean and take care of. It's got a nice weight to it but isn't overly heavy. I love cast iron as you don't have to use plastic spatulas etc.

Especially when you have something that needs to start on the stovetop and finish in the oven, or a particularly large recipe to cook. The handles help for moving in and out of the oven, but make sure you have potholders/towels to grab them, and be careful because it is pretty heavy.

The size of the pan is perfect to fit in all pieces of a chicken dinner for the family so we won’t have to do multiple batches. Kitchen aid is a good quality brand that you know will stand up to the rest of time.

It is hefty, which is expected with cast iron, but in a good way. I love the raised sides as it gives me more space to cook in. It cooks beautifully and evenly and I have been using this as my go to cast iron since getting it. Did I mention it looks great and is a joy to cook with, because it is.

I purchased this for use camping. But turns out that I love it so much, it may just stay in the kitchen. Cleans up like a dream - gets really hot quickly and retains heat very well. I did add more seasoning, and it's beautifully finished. Also love the matching Dutch Oven.

I cook with it just about every day and do everything from fried chicken to desserts in this thing. I love the weight and quality of it too.

I absolutely love this skillet. It was already seasoned and ready to use when it arrived. Easy to clean and releasing before using.

This skillet is heavy and thick for great cooking. It does bot require much scrubbing when cleaning the iron cast and it looks like new everytime. The food comes out amazing and fast when i use this skillet.

The walls are nice and high and have a bit of a curve so food doesn't get stuck in on a corner like my other cast iron pan. The 12 Indy size gives me a lot of versatility for any type of meal I'm making. I have a 10 inch as well but it just felt so limiting. This pan is wonderful. As with all cast iron, it must be dried completely before being put away to avoid rust.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love cooking in cast iron skillets & when I ended up with this 12 inch skillet I was very happy! I can now cook more & bigger items since I have 3 kids & a few roommates that I occasionally cook for. I really enjoy that it was pre seasoned so I didn't have to worry about seasoning a skillet, so it was ready to heat up, use a little cooking oil & ready to cook with. Since you don't need to wash a cast iron skillet like other regular ones with soap, you just need to wipe out the left over food & cook again. There is videos online for other ways to clean your cast iron skillet, I do mines another way I was taught. It's really heavy so be careful when putting away or placing it somewhere safe. I really love that it heats up evenly when cooking & that my food never sticks to the pan at all. Makes it for easy clean up after cooking.

Since I've only ever used a different brand of cast iron I was a little leery. However this worked fantastic, it's already seasoned and if you follow the correct instructions on how to keep it seasoned you will have absolutely no problems with this pan. I love it

Very easy to clean. Since it's pre seasoned, it can be used quickly. Also it's convenient to put in the oven to finish off the cooking, but just be careful of the handle as it can heat up. Overall it's a very good one and I definitely recommend it.
