Q: Is this good for beginners

  • A: I am a beginner and found it to be much easier than expected. I did watch a couple of YouTube videos on how to do it first. The instructions it came with are good, but watching someone do it helped a lot. It took me about 3 hours (including unwinding the skeins of yarn) once I psyched myself up to try it. It turned out beautifully! I am going to make a few more as gifts!

This is a really great craft. It took my daughter and I about 5 hours on a cold snowy day to complete, we took turns and didn’t rush and even took breaks. Great directions and no other sewing supplies needed for a great finished product. The blanket is about 3 feet x 6 feet…I would definitely buy again.

Wet yarn :(

I ordered this a gift for my daughter. When it arrived it appeared the box had been taped back up with packing tape. The bag holding the yarn appeared to be sealed but when we got the yarn out and it was wet. So disappointing.

Good deal and worth learning new skill

The quality of the yarn is very nice and soft! The directions were not it for me. I’m a visual learner so I went to YouTube and it was so easy to make!! Check out Gather And Create on YouTube. There is a section called “How to create a simple and cozy chunky knit blanket” on their channel. She made 6 videos that will walk you through each step and so much better than the instructions this came with.

Accidentally Made My Dog a Throne

My therapist told me I needed a hobby to release my weekly stress… so naturally I made a blanket. This took about 2 hours, was shockingly easy to learn, and the instructions were so clear that even my overworked brain could follow along. The blanket came out the perfect throw size and is unreasonably soft, like wrapping yourself in fuzzy socks and good life choices. It’s cozy, comforting, and now I’m emotionally attached to it because I made it. Bonus: my dog immediately snuggled right up in it, which is basically the highest review imaginable. Only downside: my back was fighting for its life by the end… but honestly that sounds like a personal issue. 10/10 would craft again.

Watched YouTube videos on how to hand knit. Instructions were ok. Good deal for the amount of yarn you get. This took about a day to make. Any bigger I would’ve had to taken it to laundromat to get washed!
