Q: How many tea bags would it take to make 1 gallon of tea?

  • A: Don't know..I make mine weak,with 1/2 gallon pitcher at a time with 1 bag,not steeped ,just boiled.Don't like instant most restaurant kinds.

  • A: Depends on how strong you like your tea. If you are going for iced tea you need to brew a stronger tea. You could always brew 1 tea bag per cup. So a gallon would be 16 bags, at this strength you could add ice and not lose flavor. To save money, I would brew 8-12 bags, depending on the strength you desire steep for a little longer. My basic formulas that I use to save tea are: #cups÷2=#bags for hot tea (#cups÷2)+(#cups÷4)=#bags for cold tea Sorry if this is confusing

    Won't confirm if bags contain plastic

    I have contacted Lipton more than once to find out if their tea bags contain plastic. They are stapled but also appear to be glued at the top, which is where I'm concerned there might be plastic. The bags themselves could contain it as well. The rep always says they have to look into it further and get back to me, but they never get back to me, and if the bags DON'T contain plastic, wouldn't that information be readily available? So no more Lipton for me, especially since they also just wasted money on a label redesign that makes it impossible to tell if the tea is decaf because it's just a giant red tag with an L on it.

    Weak and not individually wrapped

    I have tried a lot of green teas, and this one did not taste right to me. It tasted more like a black tea, and was pretty weak. I did not get any sense of the Jasmine. The bags are not individually wrapped, but come in two sealed bags inside the box — so if you don’t go through these quickly, be aware that you will need to store them in a container.

    Nice to have these versatile meaning hot or cold at any time tea.

    Liked that I could drink in the evening hot and still got a good night sleep. I would make a picture of iced tea to keep in my fridge in the warm weather. My friends commented because they were glad it was decaffeinated.

    Awesome tea!!

    The only tea we use for years. Paper tea bags, economical and flavorful. Great tea for iced tea. We brew ours at 60 C.

    Best tea ever

    Our family drinks nothing but Lipton tea we usually use three or four teabags put in a coffee pot on the stove bring to a boil. Let it boil for less than a minute then we let it sit and steep. Then we had about 3/4 cup of sugar to a gallon container pour the tea and add water and put it in our refrigerator. I have drank this tea for 50 years and would not think any other has the best flavor so I’ve never tried the organic black tea but I’ve never seen it for sale either doing it. This way we came out a few more teabags and let it steep. The strength comes from how long you let it steep. We usually use three sometimes for in the flavors perfect. Consistency goes. I know it’s always the same no matter how many thousands of times I’ve made this always taste the same. Anyone comes to my house for tea they know exactly what they’re getting and they love it.

    Terrible new tea

    My whole family have Lipton Orange Pekoe black tea fans for decades. This new Yellow label Black tea is awful. Despite reading a response to another review that says the recipe hasn’t changed, there’s non question this NOT the same tea it was for more than the past 50 years. The new box I bought is going back. I and my whole family will have to find a new brand for our daily cups of tea. WHY would you have changed such a beloved product? This new Yellow label tea has no flavor. Just no. Please tell us you will bring back the old standard Orange pekoe tea that we all love.

    Product decline

    My wife is an avid tea drinker. Her normal day consumes 4 tea bags. Ever since your company has changed the product and now attach the RED "L" tab the product has suffered. On average, 50% of the RED tabs come unattached which makes me revert to using my office stapler to reattach the tab in order to use the team bag. Is it not enough that the price of your product and doubled in resent years but now your are reducing the quality in how you present your product. I guess I should have my grocer sell staplers next to your product so the consumer can fix your issue. Very displeased and looking into other forms for my wife's tea habit.

    Best tea brand for flavor and strength

    This has been our Government to favorite family tea for generations. We have tried other brands but nothing beats Lipton for strength and flavor and its consistent. We love our lipton black tea.

    New Version is Terrible

    New version is not nearly as good. Just opened a new box of the new version and I noticed a difference right away. Both my wife and I drink several cups of hot Lipton tea every morning and will be looking for a new brand.
