The Master Lock 1523D Set Your Own Combination Padlock features a 2-1/2 in. (64 mm) wide metal body for strength and durability. The 1/4 in. (6 mm) diameter shackle is 13/16 in. (21 mm) long and made of hardened steel, offering extra resistance to cutting and sawing. The soft touch dials with 2 grip points provide no-slip grip and keyless convenience. A: Set the lock to the current combination (0000 when new), open the lock, pop off the metal cap on the right hand end, slide the numbers off and put them on to line up to the new combination you want, then pop the metal cap back on.
submitted bySteve in Austin - 8 years agoA: Open lock and withdraw the shackle. Pull spring loaded metal end cap off. Remove all 4 or 5 combination wheels. IMPORTANT: Make sure the red marks remain aligned with Master logo. Install wheels so your desired combination aligns with the Master logo. Snap metal end cap back into place. (Note: If end cap will not mount properly, check wheels to make sure they are right side up.) Close shackle and scramble wheels to lock.

Broke in less than a year
I was very disappointed with this lock. I used it for a year, but in that year, I only handled it about 6 times because it was used to lock a storage room in the basement that I rarely use. It is now broken and does not lock.
