The Master Lock 4688D Set Your Own Combination TSA-Accepted Luggage Lock features a 1-3/16 in. (30 mm) wide metal body for durability. The 1/8 in. (3 mm) diameter shackle is 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) long and made of vinyl covered flexible braided steel, offering resistance to abuse from baggage handling equipment. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screeners can open, inspect and relock bags locked with a TSA-Accepted lock. Lock your checked baggage with the lock TSA screeners won’t cut! Q: How do you set a 3 number code you want to set yourself

A: Your new lock is preset at the factory to unlock at 0-0-0. Make sure you are able to open and close the lock prior to setting your own combination. Carefully follow each step to ensure proper setting procedures. 1. Adjust dials so the preset factory combination of 0-0-0 aligns with the markers. 2. Hold cable tip (A) and move toward left to remove from the lock. 3. While pushing in button (B) turn the dials to any combination you choose. 4. Release button (B), insert cable tip (A) back into the hole, push down and move all the the way to the right. 5. The lock is now ready to be used with your combination. To change the combination again, repeat steps 2-4.

Q: Can you reset the combination if you forget it?

A: Unfortunately, there is no master or reset codes available on these locks for security reasons. Depending on the lock, you may try using a combination of higher or lower digits (from what it was set to). For example, if you set your combination to 6-1-7-2, try using 7-2-8-3 or 5-0-6-1. If you have a combination word lock, try the letters before and after your combination. If you able to get your lock open with this method, you can re-set your lock to your desired combination. If you are unable to open your lock with this method, then unfortunately, the lock cannot be recovered by you nor us.

Broke after one time use
The product was used one time internationally and upon arrival at my destination, the product would not properly lock and open anymore. I practiced opening it so many times prior to travel to make sure the combination worked. It hasn’t worked since. Im very disappointed.

After trying to "set" the code, the lock will not let me reinsert the cable and lock the lock. I can not rereset this code. I now can not use the lock.

Horrible. Complete waste of money, bought this as it was small and compact for gym locker. Hard to set up and after practicing my code multiple times the night before, tried it once more in the morning and it just wouldn’t work. Finicky and cheap design

This is the worst lock ever, just like the people who had reviewed this, it is the most very difficult lock to change with your own combination. Don't buy this and stay away

Just don't buy it.
I recently purchased this lock and within ten minutes I was ready to throw it away. Setting your own combination is a nightmare. Use a point object to push down a button while setting a lock combination is so tricky with little room for error. Well, I followed the directions the best I could and now I have a non-functional paper weight. Awful product, do not recommend.

Idiotic design. Impossible to hold button down while trying to set lock meaning you have no idea what number you end up with and lock yourself out.

Do not purchase this lock
Not acceptable--would like a refund or replacement with a key. This is the second time this has happened during a time when it was needed the most. This product deserves half a start for just being cute.

Tricksy little hobbit
Just bought this and tried to set the password but it slipped out of my hand as I tried to turn the numbers while holding the pen. I wish it had a tab to pull afterwards instead of holding a pen. I’m so sad. I lost my precious lock.
