I used this one for securing an outdoor utility box. The hook completely detaches into two pieces, versus one side unlocks and swivels open. So just be aware when installing it.

Poor design
Had the same issue as previous reviewers. The whole padlock comes off and can be put back on upside down, so the key can no longer access the keyhole to unlock it. Terrible design! Now we have to cut it off our gate.

Whole hook comes out and it can be locked in reverse, where the key will not fit. Terrible design. Should not be able to be locked in reverse.

Worst lock
Don’t buy, the whole hook comes off (which surprised me) and I locked it in reverse accidentally and I had to call a locksmith to break the lock. Worst design ever, lock designers utter failure to consider a scenario such as mine, which happened because it can lock in reverse and no warning as such.

Poor quality
The quality went downhill. Master Lock locks don't last years anymore. I have to keep buying a new one every year because the locking mechanism fails, especially for this model. Just corporations causing more wastefulness by causing consumers to add more to landfills. 🤦🏻♀️
