I have used the original stew mix for many years. This new version is horrible. So bland. I had to doctor up the left overs. Should have just made it from scratch, but McCormick stew has always been my go-to. No more, Good things don't need toi change!

I read the ingredient panel, and I did not see anything included that would have made it as spicy as it was. My family said it was too spicy hot for them and didn't like it. I love spicy foods, and it was even a little too spicy for me.

Hi I used this seasoning in a vegetarian "beef" stew and it tastes great. The ingredient list looks like it doe not contain meat or dairy products, but I just want to confirm that it is indeed vegetarian. Thank you!

Bought a package of beef stew seasoning. Been using this seasoning for many years. Always delicious! New package must have new recipe inside. It's terrible! Nothing like the previous recipe. My husband wanted to know what I did to ruin his beef stew! Our motto here is "if it ain't broke ,don't fix it!" Please let me know when you decide to return to the old recipe.

Has the packaging changed ? Or has the recipe changed as well? I am used to the red package with the navy blue banner. Thanks.

ok, but not great. thickeners are undesired.

I tried this as a shortcut rather than using my usual beef stew seasonings. it was really salty, but i more am questioning the addition of the corn and wheat gluten and xantham gum. They are completely unnecessary. those, combined with the xantham gum also messed up the texture for refrigerated leftovers. I'm not planning to use this again. please, just give us the spice mix and let us handle the salt and thickeners ourselves.

I think the most important part is to make sure your flour and brown your meat and let it simmer for at least 45 minutes. So tender! Then add fresh chopped veggies and simmer for an additional 30 minutes with the meat. I add a can of tomatoes or corn or green beans the last 10 mins.

Excellent seasoning mix. This is our only way to make beef stew. This item had to be shipped as none of our local stores carry it - c’mon Target, keep it in stores!

Too salty!

I used this for the first time today & followed the directions exactly. I found that the product is way too salty. Instead of 3 cups of water I ended up using 6 (to dilute the salt). I am not sure why all of these grocery store "seasonings" are made to have so high of sodium content?

I've always loved stew but mine was always bland. I saw this packet, followed the direction, and made the tastiest stew I've had in a decade. It's back on the menu for me.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. We've been using this for years but this time; it had almost no flavor at all - the color was lighter than usual and it left a bad taste of watery something that wasn't stew at all.
