Q: How do you take off the lid?!

A: You have to leave them upside down for a couple of days and then take off the lids. A little ridiculous but it worked!

I've purchased at least 12 of these containers in various sizes to display all of my dry goods. After using them for a few years now, I can say that I would not recommed these for food. Some lids are tighter than others, some lids have chipped. They are NOT airtight at all. If you store crackers, etc, they will be stale in a couple of days. If you have bugs, they can find their way inside the container. For items that you don't mind being exposed to air, then these are a cute storage solution, but for long term storage to keep goods fresh, these are not the right choice.

Beautiful glass jar that are the perfect size in my opinion. However, the lids are poorly finished. Ran my finger along the lid and felt like I was going to get splinters. Unfortunately going to have to return. $12 I believe is what I paid for it and not worth it with this kind of a lid.

Love these containers. Got one for flour, sugar and brown sugar and put a furniture pad on the bottom because I was afraid of them getting placed on the counter too hard and breaking. This worked like a charm. They are tightly sealed but not super air tight because the brown sugar does get hard eventually.
