Do not buy it!
I bought this 5 days ago and installed it in my basement and the humidity sensor was defective. You indicated that the humidity was only 30% when I bought it because the humidity is over 50%. I complained to Midea and they admitted that they’re getting many customer complaints about the unit. Do not buy it.

So Far So Good
Have had for about a month and so far so good. Set up was easy and our basement is noticeably drier. The tank is large so you don’t have to empty often. It is nice that you can the level where it shuts off so you don’t have to empty the full tank.

works well but be ready when the warranty expires
Brilliant design and decent features. Worked great for about a year. About 3 months after the warranty expired, it began making water-dripping noises while the unit was not operating. When lifting the unit to drain the bucket, water will drain and drip from the bottom surface of the dehumidifier. No idea or suggestions offered on how to fix the problem. The unit still works fine, but the dripping noise and water draining out of the bottom surface every time I lift it out to empty the bucket is maddening.

Not very satisfied
This is my second unit. First one didn't work right. New unit runs a lot and seems very slow to remove moisture. I set it at 50% and it gets down to 51% and then shuts off. When I set it to 45% it never got there. App water level is not very accurate either.

Unit works well and is good to look at.
My MAD50S1QWT has been running great and is an excellent design, good looking, easy to empty, and easy to use. I have set it up with my Android phone and Amazon Alexa without issue. It notified me today at work that the bucket was full. I've decided to switch to the built-in pump feature so I don't have to use the bucket anymore. I had already tested this feature and found it works great. It seems to me the same person posted all the negative reviews. Not sure why people complain about things which Midea has no control of.

Great product with all of the features
I bought two of these about 18 months ago and they are great. Everything about the design and layout is well thought out and implemented. I cannot think of anything that I would want to change. These units are 100% reliable, quiet, and energy efficient. I have some critical storage needs in my basement and they hold it at my desired 40% RH. I use the condensate pump feature, the WiFi connection, and the phone app that allows me to control and verify system operation from anywhere. I highly recommend this product and would consider other Midea products based on my experience with two of these dehumidifiers.

Solid
Only a month in, but the unit runs constantly and is taking out 5 gallons of humidity a day. I have this running in our upstairs family room and now 77 degrees feels comfortable. We are using less A/C now.

Keeps freezing up
Removes humidity OK, but after running for a few hours, the coils freeze. Ice forms on the outside and it starts making popping noises.

Disappointing product
When I first setup the cube dehumidifier, I was excited about how easy it was to setup and use. Unfortunately, after only 15 months in continuous mode, it stopped working. There was no icing and I kept up on filter cleaning. The compressor stopped working and there appears to be rust on the coils.

Good dehumidifier until it suddenly breaks
It worked good for a bit over a year. But then it started icing up and not dehumidifying anymore. We kept the filters clean and it was in a conditioned space. Since it was past its warranty, I took the cover off to look inside and all the coil tubing attachements were all rusted. Not sure if any refrigerant gas leaked inside our house due to cheap choice of materials for this unit.

Bucket overflows when full and app can't detect fill level.
Great at removing moisture from the air. Seems to be more effective than any other dehumidifier I have used. However, in the two weeks I have used it, the bucket has overflowed twice and the unit continues to run. Yes, the unit is set to bucket mode. Also, the app does not display bucket fill level so I have to think whatever sensor detects fill level is defective. The mechanism for detecting fill level isn't obvious like most other models with a tilt switch. So 5 stars for dehumidifying, and 1 for overflowing puddle of a mess = 2 stars.

Too much money for a product that does in 2 years
The unit started icing up just a little after the two-year mark. My filters are clean. I have scoured the manual and followed instructions to address this problem, but to no avail. It's basically a brick at this point.

Love this lil guy
Keeps my basement dry and is so easy to use! Love the app where I can change settings, turn on and off, or just see its status. It runs like a champ on continuous or if I have it on a specific humidity will automatically turn on. I have had the cube for nearly a month now, running everyday and no problems in sight.

Good dehumidifier.
Easy to set up in my basement. The unit rapidly dehumidified a large basement pumping extracted water into a sink. The photos and verbiage in the instruction booklet could be better at explaining the pump and discharge setup. All and all a good unit.

Flimsy bucket, can't empty completely, difficult drain use
It is wonderful that this dehumidifier is compactable, but the small plastic parts holding the very heavy dehumidifier over the bucket are very flimsy, I feel like it'll break if I'm not extremely careful and slow when placing the dehumidifier on top of it. It is also a challenge to stow the dehumidifier back in the bucket. In order to empty this thing, you have to lift off the heavy dehumidifier, it's a heavy, two-hand lift. When you lift it off, water goes everywhere from flowing out of the dehumidifier. Then you have the next challenge of lifting the heavy, bulky bucket full of water and dumping it into a sink, toilet or drain. The bucket has multiple horizontal ribs, so you'll never get all the water out and will have to towel dry it in order to prevent mold. It is almost impossible to switch from bucket mode to hose drain mode. in order to do it, you have to unplug the unit, which is a problem since the outlet is behind my storage shelves in a difficult location, then you have to plug it back in, but make sure it's not sitting on the bucket, otherwise it won't work. Then you have to push and hold 2 buttons within a given amount of time and hope that the thing changes modes, it usually takes multiple tries. Then, once you have it in hose drain mode, then you can put it back onto the bucket. If you take it off the bucket though, even for a second, then you have to go through the whole procedure again. Why not just have it always drain out the hose opening and let it pour into the bucket if no hose is attached? Why not have a dedicated button to switch drain modes? This is not user friendly. The app is not great, there is no indicator of which drain mode you are in. If you accidentally click max or continuous, there is no way to unselect it without power-cycling the device. The device is quite loud, I have to keep it in a separate room behind a closed door or it is too loud to think straight. That's not a very good solution when you're trying to dehumidify.
