  • A: Thank you for your question. Mucinex® Children’s Cough and Chest Congestion orange crème Mini-Melts™ contain guaifenesin and dextromethorphan. Guaifenesin is not known to cause drowsiness. Dextromethorphan has been shown to produce drowsiness in some patients. The product cannot be considered non-drowsy due to the inclusion of dextromethorphan. For any additional questions, you may wish to consult with your health care provider.

    Made him sicker.

    Actually horrible, don’t even waste your money. Supposedly safe for children 4 and up. Thought my son would like because he likes orange flavor.. he immediately threw up when he swallowed it. Twice. Then wouldn’t stop gagging/ dry heaving and spitting up for the next forty mins after and broke so many blood vessels in his face from how hard he was coughing. My son doesn’t have a hard time ever taking down medicine and does it without complaining so I know this stuff just had to be really awful to incite this reaction from him.

    A lifesaver for my 7 year old

    My daughter caught a very bad cold and giving her liquid medicine is always a struggle. She is really exited to try this out l instructed and she ate this nicely without making faces. These Mucinex Children Mini Melts are amazing. The granule packet is so easy to use, just pour on the tounge no water needed. She actually liked the strawberry vanilla taste, which is a first. She felt much better very quickly. Highly recommended for kids who hates syrups.

    Bye Bye snot and coughs

    I have many allergies and use these regularly to get rid of mucus in my sinuses. They are portable, easy to use and work wonders on kids coughs. They are pricey though at almost a dollar per.

    Didn't work and made her sicker

    Gave it to child and she started exhibiting stomach cramps and bathroom issues. The cough didnt go away either. Cough still remained and now we have another thing making her miserable.

    Not really for a child in my opinion

    I would not recommend this for children. My year old granddaughter would not let me pour it into her tongue, When I did get her to put it on her tougue she spit it all out at me! I thought it was a melting tablet when it was described as mini melts.if you put them in juice they do not disolve.

    Get this if your kids do not like the taste of medicines!

    As a 30-something, I simply cannot handle the taste or texture of cough syrup. Dextromethorphan also tends to make me feel like I’m dying. I picked up this medicine for myself so I could easily take a smaller dose (I took 2 packets per dose) and i think it worked well. Taste-wise, this was great! It is imperative that you or your child do NOT chew it in any way shape or form. You will feel every impulse to chew it but you’ve got to resist. If you follow that instruction, which means you’ll be swallowing some undissolved little balls of the medicine, you won’t have any bitter taste at all.

    It works. It's easy for big boys to take it without water

    It worked very well with my son.a few days ago, he started to form mucus that he threw up bcz of the mucus. I got this to try them. After one day, he started to feel better . It also tastes good. You can also put it in your purse or backpack and take it when needed
