This device has difficulty in maintaining wi-fi connectivity despite having a wi-fi extender device placed in the garage. And the keypad does not work constantly.

Wi-Fi signal strength does play a significant factor in connectivity and battery life performance of your device. You can view your Wi-Fi network strength in the myQ app under the Video Keypad Device Management Settings section to verify. The myQ Video Keypad must be within 50 feet of your Wi-Fi router if it is broadcasting a 5GHz signal. If you connect to a 2.4GHz signal, your router can be up to 150ft in distance. To ensure best performance, it is recommended to have your myQ Video Keypad connected to a 2.4GHz network. Should an extender not emit enough signal, we recommend moving it to a closer area to the Video Keypad or contacting your ISP if your main router is not emitting a broad enough signal for your devices. Made it nearly impossible to return defective item. They wanted me to wait many weeks after they received the item before they would refund my money. I reported this to my bank, and got my money back after I proved they received the defective item.

Keypad was not compatible and would not sync with my the MyQ app. Does not work to open the garage door and is seemingly only useful as a property camera. Wasted money for anyone need a keypad garage door opener.

Overall, I'm satisfied and mostly easy install. I was adding another door sensor to my originally installed base unit along with the camera. It was a little quirky to get everything working together and it didn't work with an older garage door opener (although it works with the door sensor) but thankfully the it worked with our newer version. Overall, it didn't take long to install despite all of this and is now working great. Love the whole MyQ system!

Issues with Garage Closing after Installation

Good in theory but it messed up my garage opener and it got to the point my garage wouldn’t close beyond where the opener was installed. I read online that the infrared might be interfering but it would be great for it or just work and not have to figure out go arounds, especially as my opener is made my the same company.

I had to replace my old keypad, and this one does a great job, adding a camera feed as well. I use the MyQ Smart Garage Control with my ancient garage door opener, and this keypad integrates seamlessly. The battery lasts for weeks, and the battery changing process is quick and simple (I recommend buying a second battery to minimize downtime).

Basic app appears very helpful and yields the data desired. The problem I have experienced is that the WiFi connection is not reliable. Signal strength is more than adequate when connected, but the video camera keypad does not maintain a connection. It requires a daily reset of the device.This makes the device guy useless.

The screw to secure the unit is useless. After watching YouTube videos. I figured that my keypad lacks any threads for the screw. It stays in place otherwise.
