Q: Is this the original formula of Nexxus Mousse Plus Volumizing Foam Styler in the Gold Can (original formula)?? the new formula in the pink can is not the same and highly inferior to the former formula.

submitted bykfc - 9 years agoA: interesting you said that. i thought i ordered the gold can but received it in pink instead. i wasnt sure if it is the same formula and noticed a bit of a difference... i tried a different brand but found that even the pink can is it still better than other brand. but you are right, the gold one is a lot better.

I don't know why Target stopped carrying the original Nexxus Mousse Plus Volumizing Foam Styler in the Gold Can. I haven't found a similar substitute try Biolage Volumizing Mousse. It's better than the Nexxus Pink can IMHO.

A: None of the ingredients listed are formaldehyde releasing. You can easier find that answer by googling. FR ingredient names are listed on many sites.

DO NOT BUY unless you're okay with the bottle spontaneously leaking all over your vanity & ruining countless products
TERRIBLE product & packaging. I’ve had it for like 6 months & I use it once or twice a week & today all of a sudden, I came home & noticed the bottle was leaking from the bottom allllllll over my vanity. I had to throw away like 8 things that couldn’t be saved after being absolutely saturated in sticky mousse. I’m still figuring out how to save my counters. Literally SO ANNOYED. There was zero reason for this to happen aside from awful packaging. So yeah, definitely don’t recommend unless you’re in the mood to waste $100 replacing everything that it ruined.

Based on reviews I wasn’t sure I wanted to give this line a try, but I’m glad I did! The mousse works GREAT! Definitely hold my hair in place even with it being M hold. It doesn’t make my hair feel crunchy, it feels stiff as it dries but then my hair feels soft. I am in love with this product!

The smell is gagging me!
I’ve been using Nexxus mousse for years. It’s always had a clean, neutral scent; a scent that wouldn’t linger. This new bottle has such a strong, god-awful scent of magnolia mixed with Bradford pear tree. If you’re in the south, you know what I’m talking about. I absolutely cannot STAND the scent to the point that it makes me gag.

I love this product but I am disappointed in Target’s service and delivery. This item was out of stock in the store so I had it delivered but the container is basically empty. You can see that the item leaked during shipping. No padding or protection in box so it probably bounced around during the delivery process. 151 people in line for online chat and 30 minutes to wait for online support. Cannot use online Fix Issue for this item. On crutches for 10 weeks and unable to drive so basically I am out of luck on my $16 purchase.

Been using this mousse for years and years but the latest can is just terrible. It used to have just a very light, subtle scent but now it's very strong and offensive. I've tried to use it twice and both times I've had to jump back in the shower and shampoo it out. I can't speak to any difference in how the new formula works, as some other reviewers have, because I haven't been able to leave it in my hair long enough to find out. PLEASE go back to the old formula. And if you do go back, let us know because it sounds from the reviews that many of us will no longer be buying until we know that's happened.

The new scent is awful, I have used this product for years, I have allergies and I had no issues with this until they changed the formula. As soon as I applied it I immediately got sick, I washed it out and I couldn’t get rid of the smell. Please bring back the old formula. There are a lot of people that can’t tolerate such strong scents.

Dry scalp
I love the way my hair looks worn this product. I try to wash my hair only every 3-4 days, using this product in my after care routine. I use a moisturizing shampoo I’ve used long before, same conditioner, and after starting to use this product, I’ve noticed my scalp flaking. The mousse dried out my scalp, though I do my best to avoid it even contacting my scalp when applying. I’d love to use this product, but if it comes with flakes in my hair, it’s not worth it. I’m mourning not only the loss of great product, but the loss of money after having bought 2.

New Scent is too strong
I’ve been buying this product for years, and the new scent is very strong and abrasive. I just used some and it’s all I can smell — even overpowering my perfume. Why was the scent changed? I’m afraid I can’t buy this product anymore and need to find some other brand, which I hate. It really has been my go-to mousse for years and it was perfect as-is. Please change the scent back!!

Mousse Formula Change
I have been using this mousse for about 10 years. The formula in the can I just bought is totally different. There is a strange smell and my hair does not get the volume or crunchy feel that I like.
