[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really disappointed with this product. It made my hair feel sticky and heavy instead of smooth, and it didn’t seem to protect well from heat styling. After using it, my hair felt dry and looked frizzy, which is the opposite of what I expected. The scent is also a bit too strong for me. I wouldn’t buy this again.

Replacing my $40 Kerastase with this!
I've been using a Kerastase heat protecant for a few years and trying something new every once in a while hoping I could find something similar that want so insanely expensive. This is it! I spray and comb through before blow drying and it leaves my hair soft and shiny without leaning a build up. I've tried other brands like ogx, It's a 10, the "perfect serum" from Amazon/TikTok, but all of these left a film on my hair that eventually looked oily. This product doesn't do that. It does have a light scent that fades after 8 hours or so.

Good heat protection and scent fades after drying,
I’ve used the Nexxus Prep & Protect a few times, and while I really don’t like the scent at first, thankfully it doesn’t linger once the hair is dry, which is super important to me. The finish feels pretty average, but I do think it protects well because my hair doesn’t smell burnt after heat styling. That said, it does leave my hair feeling a bit greasy, and since my hair is naturally oily, this product doesn’t really help keep it feeling fresh.

This has been an amazing product to add in my hair routine. It does have a slightly ammonia smell to it but it has really helped my hair to be protected through the heat I apply almost daily. It fits perfect in my bathroom and looks cute!

Left hair more frizzy
I have very thick, curly, low porosity hair. I was looking for a heat protectant for when I use my diffuser that would help with frizz. Based on the reviews, I thought I’d give this a try. This product sucks. My hair was sooo frizzy after spraying my hair and using my diffuser. I am used to frizz of course, but this was giving Hermione Granger in the first Harry Potter movies (but more curl). I’d prefer to not use any heat protectant than use this product.

Shiny hair
This is my go to for heat protection. Nothing has worked quite as well. I use it before I blow dry my waist length hair and then a spritz a little more before straightening or curling it for a little extra. It leaves my hair soft smooth and very shiny. It’s worth every penny and actually lasts quite a while even with everyday use.

It does its job, but it makes my hair greasy. It smells nice, it has a large volume, a good dispenser, a large spray radius, it came packaged in a protective film. I don't think I'll buy it a second time. It didn't suit my thick, straight hair.

Heat Protection With Added Bonuses
I recently received a Shark FlexStyle for Christmas, and had been doing research on what products to use. The Nexxus Thermal Shield Spray was one of the first recommendations. Not only does it smell AMAZING (like roses), and leaves my hair smelling so good all day, but it works so well. I saw a TikTok where a girl sprayed her thermal protectant on a Q-Tip and held a flame over it, to test how well the protectant works. So of course I had to try it, and not a single burnt fiber! I was absolutely shocked. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who regularly styles their hair with heat! It claims to protect hair up to 450°F and provide frizz protection, and I do find it makes my hair feel so much smoother.

Salon quality with drugstore prices
I love this Nexxus heat protectant. I rarely use heat on my hair so when I do it’s important that the product I use to prep actually protects my hair. This Nexxus line does a phenomenal job at making sure my hair is protected from damage. The packaging is sleek and the scent is great, light fragrance.
