Q: Has this product changed? I ordered what’s pictured, but it arrived with “new” printed on the box and no longer says “Glide threader floss” just “threader floss.” It’s also made of cotton like fibers that look like they’ll snag on my wire! Very annoying!

A: Exactly what I found. Wish I would’ve read this before I purchased. The packaging is nice with a colored threader on each end and multiple contained in each envelope. But the floss itself snags and makes fingernails on chalkboard sounds and feels terrible between my teeth.

I used the original for years because it’s the only thing that worked around my implants without snagging and shredding. This stuff is a nightmare. It got caught and I had to use tweezers to get it out more than once. And I swear some got stuck and I ended up with soreness until it worked its way out. IMO it is not a safe product.

It had higher ratings for the PREVIOUS style of flossing but they have changed it sometime in August 2024. Now the new flossing is completely useless. There are no good reviews since August 20th…therefore, it tack the version onto the previous ratings are MISLEADING! Shame on you Oral B.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
New formula is absolutely horrible. Nobody cares that you changed the packaging—we care that you made a fabulous product unusable with a subpar formula. Go back to the old or expect people to flee from this. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE; DO NOT PURCHASE; PAINFUL TO USE; NOT GLIDER FLOSS ANYMORE BUT CHEAP, FRAGILE, ROUGH FLOSS.

It's too thick for floss, so I repurposed it
The old threader floss stood up well to my dental work and did not shred. I bought the new version because I thought that only the packaging was changed to use less paper. When I opened the box, took out the first packet, and opened it, I saw that the new floss had hard plastic tips and and was so thick that I did not want to try putting it between my teeth at the risk of dislodging any fillings or crowns. I could not return what I opened, so I kept the box.Sometime later when I needed thick beading thread to make bracelets, I tried the remaining floss strands for that. They held up well so far.

Product changed, not happy with new product
This product recenly changed from a piece of normal glide floss attached to a threader. The new product is super floss and it shreds and catches on teeth. I do the ordering for the dental office I work at, we will not be ordering this product anymore.

ORAL-B, PLEASE GO BACK TO OLD PRODUCTS
Oral B changed all of their floss products around May 2025. I used their Glide regular floss and the Super Floss for my permanent retainer. These products are now useless. The "glide" floss is now a plastic square edged material that breaks in between my teeth and doesn't remove any plaque. The threader and the super floss used to have a sturdy smooth end that easily went between teeth and under braces, retainers, etc. Now that threader is a piece of cotton string that is frayed at the end, defeating the whole point of using it to wedge between teeth. Oral B, why even make products if they are going to be as useless as this??? Do not waste your money on ANY of their products, I had to throw mine away because they really were that bad.

Bring back the wax threader floss!
This new threader floss is terrible! It gets stuck between my teeth and caught on my permanent retainer and on my daughter's braces! Terrible product!

New isn't always better
Due to Oral B Glide Pro Health Threader Floss being disconnected after such great success, I tried this "new Threader Floss". I spent more time using a different floss getting this floss out of my teeth cause it was falling apart as I was using it. I threw the box out after doing this 2 times HOPING it was just an accident the first time.

New design is not functional.
The new design of this product is difficult to work with, as removing the individual flossers is tricky. Having to reopen the same packet every day also seems unsanitary. Once I dropped the entire card of flossers while trying to remove one flosser, which meant I had to throw five flossers away without having used them. I recommend looking elsewhere for a better product.

Very disappointed in new design
This is way less useful than the prior version. It’s got a much cheaper feel, is harder to take out of the package, and falls apart super easily. It’s junk compared to the old design. I’ll be returning.

These threaders are terrible. They constantly snap and break. The cloth like texture gets stuck so easily in small, tight spaces. I will not be buying these again and can’t even stand to use the rest of the package because of how impractical they are.

Bring back the old floss
The old product was perfect. The new floss shreds between my teeth and gets stuck in my glued-on retainer. Then I have to use tweezers to remove the shredded pieces. It makes flossing the most time-consuming activity of the evening. Absolutely hate it! Please bring back the old version.

Bring back the smooth floss!
I have used glide threader floss for many years, but no more! The floss part is now similar to Superfloss, and is much shorter in length than in years past. The floss gets stuck between my teeth, and I am unable to floss properly. I had just stocked up, but will return the unopened boxes. Very disappointing.
