Q: Has this product changed? I ordered what’s pictured, but it arrived with “new” printed on the box and no longer says “Glide threader floss” just “threader floss.” It’s also made of cotton like fibers that look like they’ll snag on my wire! Very annoying!

The packaging is nice with a colored threader on each end and multiple contained in each envelope. But the floss itself snags and makes fingernails on chalkboard sounds and feels terrible between my teeth.

It had higher ratings for the PREVIOUS style of flossing but they have changed it sometime in August 2024. Now the new flossing is completely useless. There are no good reviews since August 20th…therefore, it tack the version onto the previous ratings are MISLEADING! Shame on you Oral B.

I have been using this product for over 20 years and have LOVED it. I was curious about the new box design. When I opened the package I was appalled that 5 strands were openly exposed per packet. So unsanitary. The experience was even worse when I removed the threader. The product is shorter in length, has the threader on each end, and no longer GLIDES. It is awful, I caution everyone to stay away from this terrible product. The changes have made it absolutely worthless.

Sorry to give this a 1 star, but built in threader was not sturdy at all. It folded the second I tried to pass it through. I'm not sure what type of material the actual floss was but that was not sturdy either. It's not "tight" like the regular floss, so I felt like it was ineffective.

Originally, I gave this a one star because it is 100% not like the original floss threaders. The original floss threaders have the pointy end and then the rest is like floss. I am not sure how to describe this new material but it is definitely not floss. It's this odd material, circumference of thread but more flexible. Thankfully, it is not as thick or as painful as the super floss ones but still not my favorite. Also, I can see how it can easily start to shred especially if it catches between tight teeth or appliances. I changed to a two star because for me it is not completely unusable- I have a permanent bottom retainer, it threads through smoothly and is a little gentler than floss but I have to be careful where the brackets are. I still prefer the original. Also, they switched from the individual packaging to having 5 in a "to go" envelope. The individual packaging was better. All in all it is a better alternative for me than the super floss but hoping to find something more similar to the original floss threaders.

I loved the old product! I hate this new version & tossed the box! The original individual packets were nice but I can’t believe you changed the floss as well. As a hygienist who used this product daily I’m in a quandary. I bought all the original boxes I could find. Hoping you bring the old product back before I run out!

Where did the glide threader floss go?! This stuff is terrible. This stuff is showing in my order history but I have never seen this version before. It got caught in my teeth and hurt. Bring back the old version.

Felt like putting Styrofoam between my teeth. The plastic ends stabbed into my gums and were difficult to get under my permanent retainer. Would not recommend.

The floss gets shredded into a frayed mess between teeth/wires and is impossible to fish out after. It took weeks for the threads to dislodge themselves, I was trying to pull it out with regular floss and with tweezers and hemostats - with no avail. Only time dislodged the uncomfortable wad of frayed string/floss.

I have severe hand arthritis and the old threader floss worked well for me. It was sturdy, and the individual packaging made it easy to open and use. The new version has a flimsier plastic end, and is much harder for me to insert in my bridges. The packaging - wound around a card - is also much harder for my hands.
