Does not smell and taste like coconut
I bought 5 cans and had to return 4. This is the first time I bought a can of coconut cream from Target, I buy them all the time from the Asian store, or other groceries (different brands). This one has a smell and an after taste. It has a distinct smell and taste to it, that is definitely not coconut. I thought I can cook it off, it ruined my Thai curry.

Disappointed - NOT coconut cream
Despite the label saying "coconut cream", it is NOT. It is coconut milk, purified water, and guar gum. I wish I had read the label of ingredients before I ordered instead of relying on the name. I was wanting to make whipped (coconut) cream, but this did not work, even with the addition of extra thickener. It did taste ok, but never thickened. It might be ok for other usages.

I’ve purchased coconut cream prior 2024 and the consistency has changed. I thought I made a mistake by purchasing the wrong thing but coconut cream is not longer that thick cream consistency it’s basically just milk now. It'll work in a pinch, but this has an incredibly sweet and nutty smell and taste that just isn't at all coconut cream. It's more like coconut candy with plastic and almonds. I used it in a soup tonight and had to add a ton of lime and soy sauce to make it bearable, and I still smell that intense nutty smell. Do yourself a favor and just by the brand name, you'll thank yourself.

I'm allergic to cow's milk so I use this and Target's coconut milk often to enrich foods with creaminess and a dose of healthy fats. I also add it to my homemade vegan yogurt. I'm not sure why there are so many complaints about this item. I purchase 1-2 cans per week and it's always fresh and creamy with a hint of coconut, just as it should be. I love that it's organic and the price is amazing--less than other brands that aren't organic.
