Let's be clear...
Please clarify the instructions. When to Apply Apply in early spring or summer when insects or damage first appear, the weather is calm, and rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours. Does Ortho BugClear Lawn Insect Killer1 need to be watered? For best results, treated area should be thoroughly watered immediately after application.

Hi, apply Ortho BugClear Lawn Insect Killer Granules to dry foliage. If lawn is in need of water, water before application and allow to dry. Water product in after applying. It does not need watered in immediately but needs watered in in order for it to work. If there is suppose to be a light rain within the next day or 2, that is okay. Contrasting application instructions
Product is good but instructions on bag and website conflict. Bag has NO instructions whether to water in and website conflicts with itself, suggesting NOT to water in within 24 hours of application and then in another sentence to water in immediately. Does any ortho webmaster ever edit what they write?

Impressive
Highly recommend this product. We had a problem with grubs..hundred of grubs everywhere from Japanese beetles. I bought two large bags to cover the acres we live in and it worked insanely well. Within 2 days I had dead grubs all over. I have been extremely impressed by this product and how well it works. I use it in the spring and fall to keep them out of the yard. It also controls the ticks which is a big problem in my area so a huge plus with having dogs!

Not recommended
Bought product because we. Noticed ants in the lawn. Applied as it stated on the label and now over a week later we have never.more ants and the lawn is dying even more. Would not recommend this poroduct.

Absolute worst!!!
Applied product exactly according to directions and my, not even 3 week old sod, was brown and dead the next day. Absolutely awful. Now I have to spend more money to try to save all the money I put out on the sod.

Works great

DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE PETS! My dog is currently at an animal hospital after just stepping in the grass over 6 hours after product was placed. He became unconscious with seizures and tremors, and was unsure he was going to survive. He is still not in the clear and has cost thousands in treatments. The labeling is absolutely incorrect it shouldn’t say it’s safe when it’s not! A crap product!

Not good
After I had treated my yard I allowed 48 hours for my three dogs to go back outside. After the 48 hours my 3-year-old Akita went outside and ate some grass. One day later he was acting real strange and rushed him to the vet found out that he was poisoned after that day he died because of the poison from the grass so I will not recommend this product it does not say anything on the back pertaining to grass consumption ! With medications from the vet that did not help and he passed away

False advertising. GRUBS, 6 MONTHS, 16,500 sq ft
False advertising worked on me. I was looking for Grub killer and BugClear looked like the best bang for the buck. 16,500 ft coverage and 6 month control and GRUBS all prominently displayed on the front of the bag. Yes, the back of the bag has asterisks pointing to even finer print with with more asterisks pointing to more fine print. Final note says that you should have bought GrubEX, because BugClear does NOT work well (even at double strength) on killing grubs. False advertising

Kills the bugs and grubs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this product for a few years and it does the job. One great benefit is it keeps the moles away and with no bugs or grubs the don’t want to be in my lawn. It’s easy to apply with my Scotts spreader and easy cleanup.

Killed crazy ants!
Easy to apply and works fairly quickly. It killed a good amount of the crazy ants that have infested our property in the last week. We had none, and then suddenly, a couple of weeks ago, they were every where on our 4 acres. Used the spray around the house and porches, and used the granules about 50 feet around the house. They are almost gone after a week. Crazy ants are very hard to get rid of completely.

It's poison. I didn't find the results to be adequate considering that it is poison. Bugs don't all go and the poison stays

Helpful!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a bug problem in my home, I have noticed ants and spiders and even moles come in from the outside. Not knowing what to do I used this product. I put it all around the outside of my house and my problem definitely was not bad as usual. Definitely made me more comfortable in my own home as if I was no longer sharing it with bugs.

Bug be Gone
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is by far hands down one of the best bug cleaner I have tried. The granulas are so easy yo spread. My issue is ant hills and this was like fire on the ant hills. No smelly insecticides to inhale. Water activates and it’s indescribable. Best product to have year around. Less creepy crawlers seen on porch or windows. Sprinkle the Ortho BugClear Arian your house and along grass line and you will most definitely see a difference.
