OUAI Thick Hair Treatment Masque - Ulta Beauty

This was my first time trying Ouai and the treatment mask, and my initial thoughts. I went with the thick because of the coarseness of natural grey hair. I have natural grey hair, that is mid back length. I have tried a lot of masks over the years (7) since going natural, some very high end, I would say this is middle road in pricing. I've had some ruin my hair within 3 uses, many of which were reviewed as miracle masks / treatments. Once I clarified my hair with BB's Sunday Shampoo, I used my regular BB shampoo also to ensure that all the oil (I was oiling my hair nightly this week) was out so that the mask could be absorbed. I sectioned my damp hair and applied this root to ends. While most masks usually slide on this one took a bit of work, even when I warmed it (rubbed) in my hands. I could not even get my fingers through my hair to place it in a pony, I felt like I was going to be pulling hair out. On the site and information I could find, you can leave this in more than 3-10 minutes, since my hair is starving right now for moisture, I decided to do a spa day and leave it for an hour. I noticed it felt tacky, and almost dry while it was on my hair before rinsing. While it does have a floral scent, it is not as bad as some here have mentioned. I can not smell it in my hair after using my products and blow drying. I rinsed this out in the shower, it felt a little slippery but nothing to "WOW" about.I then applied my regular conditioner to seal in the moisture (typically per all the information and salon professionals through the years have told me, you should always condition afterwards to seal it all in). I then proceed to round brush and dry my hair as usual, with my regular products ( I don't ever flat iron or curl). I did notice, there was a reduction in frizz, the ends weren't as dry (could have been better I feel), but it didn't feel like straw or dry either. It was soft, and smooth to the touch. The shine, I would say is about the same as many other masks have performed on my natural grey hair. I will give it another try next week. I am still on the fence about returning it. I have another to test (trying to find the right one for my dry grey hair) over the next couple of weeks and will make a decision after giving it another chance.

Such an amazing product, I use this as my conditioner and leave on for about 5 mins. I have noticed such a difference in my hair!! This paired with ouai anti frizz creme!!

I swear by OUAI products, and this hair mask is one of my holy grails! Between heat, hairspray, and hair gel, my hair tends to go through it daily but using this hair mask once a week completely refreshes it! AMAZING product!

I have very thick, frizzy hair and this really smoothed and tamed it.

I love how it makes my hair feel and it definitely felt refreshing after taking a shower. It felt smooth and conditioned well. I believe I'm going to add this weekly or every two weeks to my routine.

I'm not usually one to like a hair product. I kept it plain and simple... until I found this mask. It has pushed my hair in the right direction, and now my hair feels so much more luscious and soft!

This product works so well that I use it even though I hate the smell of roses. I'd buy it by the bucket if they made a different scent option. I hate that I hesitate to use such an effective product.

I have wavy hair, but an inconsistent pattern. I've been in need of a new hair mask since my hair can get incredibly dry. Thank you to the worker who told me this was her favorite! My hair is visibly less frizzy and overall moisturized after 1 use!

Perfect after the detr\ox shampoo, left my hair soft and supple.

Use this product every time I wash my hair. About 2 times a week. Leaves my hair soft.

Was hoping for a light smooth silky fresh feeling, but unfortunately my hair didn't respond as well as i wanted .

Felt great. Dissatisfied with flakes. When drys it left white flaky residue similar to dandruff. Had to switch back to another product. Hair Conditioner & Oil suffice.

As soon as I put this on my hair, I instantly said "ohhhh this is amazing." I have natural hair that ranges between 3b-4a. This left my hair feeling amazingly soft, moisturized and not overwhelmed with plastic and junk. I will be a forever fan.

Thus is approved for Type 4 African American hair! Love the smell. It’s not overpowering and lingers all day. Curls pop and hair melts like butter . You are able to detangle easily . A little goes a long way.

It is my go-to hair pampering treatment. It leaves the hair soft, detangled, and healthy. The fragrant scent is light and pleasant. I would recommend OUAI treatment masque and all the OUAI line to anyone who is looking for a top of the line product!
