Q: The description says receive alerts if "sleep quality" changes. Will this alert you if the baby stops breathing for a certain amount of time (ex: 15 seconds) like the monitors that clip on diapers?

A: Hi, there. Thanks for reaching out! The Dream Sock is a sleep solution that monitors your child’s sleep state and sleep quality by tracking sleep indicators such as oxygen level. However, Dream Sock does not send notifications based on oxygen level readings leaving preset zones. Dream Sock may send a “sleep assist” notification if Baby is uncomfortable or needs assistance to sleep more soundly based on multiple inputs, one of which may be oxygen level.

Q: Does this work with 5 G wifi?

A: Thanks for reaching out! 5GHz was designed to maximize speed over short distances. Therefore, it has faster data but has a shorter range. 2.4GHz is designed to be used for longer distances and slower data speeds. The Owlet has a 100 ft range and requires little bandwidth so 2.4GHz is the standard for low bandwidth appliances. The sock saved my sons life. It alerted us when his oxygen level was low. He stopped breathing at 3 AM and we were able to tend to him right away and call 911. We would have not known otherwise. I would buy this again and again.

The first 2 weeks this sock gave me an ease of mind, then the battery started lasting less and less. I have had it for 3 months, and it goes off after a couple hours saying there's a connection issue (we do have smart light bulbs and more smart items at home, so we know it is not the internet malfunctioning).

This is the worst baby product I’ve ever purchased. I panic purchased this when my three week old caught my older kid’s cold and was coughing and gagging on mucus. I was hopeful it’d help me in an emergency situation if we had one. I quickly realized this product would wake us every three seconds for stupid reasons. It incorrectly claims “better sleep for the whole family” but clearly it’s just marketing to tired desperate parents. Apparently the older versions you could turn the not red alert sounds down, but you can no longer adjust the volume. The sock will set off an alarm if your baby is being rocked too long, like ten minutes, so for parents like me who feed then rock their newborn to sleep the base will set off an alarm to tell you to tend to your baby. It’s wildly annoying because I’m literally holding her, trying to get her to sleep, and an alarm will go off and wake her up - and you have to physically stand up and press the base to silence it. If you don’t do it correctly it’ll just snooze the notification and start the alarm again. The base needs to be near the sock, in the same room, and the app tells you not to rely on phone notifications and only rely on the base. Okay, so I’m expected to stay in my bedroom for every nap? Newborns can sleep 22 hours a day….seems ridiculous to have an unreliable phone app for an expensive product in 2024. Additionally, my baby isn’t a big sleep squirmer and the sock kept falling off, which sets off an alarm. It made our sleep routine extremely stressful. If the app was reliable and you could silence the other not red-alert notifications it may be better, but overall this isn’t worth the money or stress. There are other products on the market that are more helpful than this junk.

Don't listen to the hype. This device will assault what is left of your fragile being and leave you questioning your life decisions. You don't need this extra noise in your life. It isn't worth it. There is no peace of mind to be found here only mental strain and frustration. It will not hold a connection further than 15 feet and cannot be silenced without putting the base station in the freezer and uninstalling the app.

I can say honestly that I love the outlet dream sock! It not only gives me a peace of mind, but it helps this first time mommy get some much needed sleep, while the baby sleeps, without feeling the need to constantly check breathing patterns. The packaging is great, the sock is a soft material and the technology is amazing. I highly recommend!

I purchased the Owlet Monitor during my pregnancy, hoping it would give me peace of mind at night. My baby spent a week in special care after birth, so coming home was a bit overwhelming. The first couple nights I really loved the dream sock. Well after that all I have had is issues getting it to connect to the base station and communicate with the app. I have tried reconnecting over and over. I have to sometimes delete the device and re add it, or uninstall the app and reinstall, log out and log back in. I've tried it all and sometimes it'll work and other times it does not. For as much money as I paid for this product I should not be having these issues consistently every night. By the time I get the thing working then the baby is up, I didn't get any sleep and we are going through the motions of feeding and changing and getting him settled again and on top of that I'm trying to get my pumps in but I'm also trying to get this device to connect to the base station. It's so frustrating. Might need to return this and just go with the nanit

Absolutely love the owlet sock and the peace of mind that it gives me! This is my second child using the owlet with and I would definitely recommend it. Not only does it monitor the sleep trend, sats, heart rate and movement. It also gives you tips and estimates the best times to get your baby down for a nap based on wake windows. This is the reason I feel comfortable having my little sleep in the nursery, so I’m finally getting good sleep and so is he!

The owlet sock really saved me during my post partum period. It was great peace of mind for those first few months when we were worrying about our baby’s sleeping. It’s great at predicting future naps too which helped getting a schedule going for our LO. Reads have always been good, we had one false reading once, but overall I’d rather deal with a false reading here and there than consistently monitoring my LO due to my anxiety.

I personally love the Owlet Dream Sock due to the peace of mind I l receive while my baby and I sleep. The sock alarms different sounds for the different issues with the sock as baby sleeps so that you know how to identify the severity of the alarm such as; sensory issues with the sock being out of range or not on baby’s foot well enough, unhealthy oxygen levels, and discomfort within baby’s sleep. It also helps me track his sleep cycle, oxygen levels, movement, and heart rate. This sock is my first priority before putting my baby to bed at night to ensure I will be aware of any issues while he is sleeping and if not, rest assured I will still get a peaceful sleep.

We love this device. It gives me a lot of piece of mine. So far we have only had one false alarm in nearly three months of using it. The only reason I didn't rate it five stars, is because sometimes it is a little slow on the app.
