Panasonic 2.2 cu ft Cyclonic Inverter Microwave Oven - SN97JS: Countertop, 1250W, Sensor Cook, Digital Display

The main reason for the poor review is that the general QA from Panasonic seems to be lacking. I first ordered this model, the NN-SN97JS. Upon unpacking the unit from the box, it was immediately obvious that the door was misaligned and was there was a difference of 2-3 mm between the top of the door and the side panel when the door was closed. It sounds minute, but it is actually very noticeable. Apart from being a cosmetic eyesore, this also resulted in the microwave not being able to open/close properly in the pre-existing trim kit. By applying tension to the door while opening/closing to simulate how it would be if the alignment were better, it was able to swing freely. Thinking that it was a one-off, I decided to return the microwave and get another unit. As some other reviews may mention, the NN-SN97JS is only stainless steel on the face and the rest of the unit is covered in silver paint. Since my unit would be in a cabinet trim kit where only the face is visible, I decided to instead get the NN-SN98JS, which appears to have the same functionality but is cheaper without the silver paint. After receiving NN-SN98JS, I found that it too had a door misaligned by a couple mm. I had to spend several hours to make some custom modifications to the trim kit to get it to work properly. Very disappointed in Panasonics QA as it seems every microwave has this issue.

The unit is working properly, though the use of the key pad and the instructions don't always seem to make sense. It would be helpful if the steam sensor was a bit more sensitive.

Exactly what I wanted. I had a Panasonic before, it worked beautifully for many years, so i wanted a replacement with the features I loved from that product.

I brought this model in 2021, love it, but my coupler has broken and I am trying to find an replacement, but having trouble.

We purchased this microwave to replace another Panasonic that died. It was only 1 1/2 years old. We hope this one lasts longer. Because the microwave is built-in we needed specific dimensions and this was the only one that came close. So far, after 2 weeks, this microwave is performing well. However, I will never again have a built-in microwave because manufacturers keep changing dimensions and nothing fits. My faceplate on this one could not match up to the previous screw holes so I had to adhere it so it would look attached.

I liked the sleek design and spacious microwave that can handle anything as well as the quick and easy presets. This item is really great and heats food evenly!

Quiet fast cooking unit. It is bulky but that only allows for more possibilities, almost seems like you could fit a turkey inside because it is so big. I love the popcorn feature, it asks you how many oz the bag of popcorn you are cooking is, so you get optimal poppage without burning the popcorn. Buttons are quiet as is the alert to let you know it is done. Door pops open easily and is excellent quality.

This microwave is definitely one of the larger units on the market. I'm still getting to know the features and functions but I feel confident this microwave can do anything I need it to. Fancy features are great but what matters is that it reheats food quickly and evenly. I like the sleek look and it is easy to clean. Not sure I could go back to a smaller microwave after using this one.

A coffee button?! Where have you been all my life?! Honestly I use my microwave the most to reheat coffee so this is my favorite feature. This thing is big though so make sure you get the measurements right. Too big for a counter and might not replace your current one if not the same size. It’s very sharp looking and pretty straight forward as a regular microwave.

This microwave is nice and powerful. It heats up food in a shorter amount of time than my old one. Easy to use with a very nice sleek design. Doesn’t take up too much counter space either! Would highly recommend.

What an amazing microwave! So much power and so many options available to cook, reheat, defrost. It is well designed and easy to use - and very easy to clean! Highly recommended microwave oven! Another great Panasonic product!
