Q: What are the dimensions for the bowl when expanded?

A: The bowl is about 9.5-10" tall when expanded and collapsible to 1/3 of that height when stored. The diameter of the bowl is about 9" across. It easily fits in a standard kitchen drawer when collapsed.

Q: Does this salad spinner have a crank handle or a pull handle?

A: There is a handle on top that rotates in a circular motion to create the spinning. The handle is attached and there is a photo above to show it in a bit more detail. This is not a pull-cord spinner.

So much better than the old type
This is definitely the way to go. I had one of the old ones that had the motor that stuck down in the bowl and got in the way where you couldn't load that much lettuce in it. The old type wouldn't fit into a produce drawer in your refrigerator. This one is collapsible so that you can store it when not in use just like you'd store a bowl. And it will just fit in my produce drawer which is exactly where it belongs. I actually like the hand crank. You can fit the whole head of lettuce in there if you cut it up and three or four pieces because there's no part of the spinner down in the bowl. I did not find it hard to collapse and uncollapse. Much easier than trying to find a space for the old one that didn't fit anywhere and it is now in the trash.

It said dishwasher safe but warped after the first wash on the top track. I tried to gently press out the warp and it worked enough for it to spin in the bowl, but then as I was using it to dry lettuce, the knob popped off the spinning mechanism. Do not buy!
