Not happy with lid
I like the skillet, but would prefer one with a glass lid. The plastic has an odor and tomato stains are very hard to remove. Also a vent in the lid would be helpful.

To remove tomato stains from your cover, try putting a thin layer of vegetable oil on the affected areas and wipe with a terrycloth towel. If you prefer a skillet with a glass cover, try Presto® stock number 06626. Although these covers do not have a vent, they are loose fitting for venting purposes. We appreciate your comments and concerns and will share them with both our design and quality teams. If you wish to discuss further, give us a call, we'd love to speak with you! Call 1-800-877-0441 weekdays. We're available 8-4 CT.

Non Vented Lid
I have been using Presto products for many years and finally had to replace my 11" electric skillet. Still the same Presto quality and I am very pleased .... except for one thing .... the lid. My original had a metal lid with a vent. This one has a plastic lid with NO vent, so when certain foods cook, there is no place for the pressure to be released except the edges of the lid, and therefore down the side of the skillet and all over counter, stove, or where-ever I have placed it. Please go back to the old design with a vented lid.

Good skillet
I bought this high dome lid electric skillet in the 1980's. I fried fish, baked a large whole chicken, stand up ribs and a few recipes in the recipe book it came with. Loved the great quality then hope 2024 says the same.
