A: Yes you may. There are two different ways to shred cabbage. If you use the shredding blade, your cabbage will have a fine, small texture. If you want longer shreds, use the slicing blade. A: We offer different shredding cones to meet your needs. If you want a consistency of grated cheese such as grated ('powdered') parmesan cheese, you could use the fine shred cone at first and then reprocess with the same cone to get a texture similar to that. We bought the unit in 2023. Normally use the medium shred cone and have not had any issues. Decided I wanted larger cheese shreds and switched to the super shred cone. It cracked in 3 places after two uses. We hand wash all parts. Needless to say, we are highly disappointed and on top of that, cannot locate the super shred cone replacement. We were going to purchase 3 additional Professional Saladshooter units for our kids, but due to the limited use of the cone before breaking and the inability to purchase replacement cones, we have decided not to pursue the purchase.

So I love my salad shooter, but my grater is already broken. My first salad shooter I got for a wedding present and it lasted 25 years( it actually broke on my 25th wedding anniversary) , so I bought a new one for my camp trailer and one for my house. But my grater is already broken . I am so disappointed, and I don’t see the replacement on this website.

I bought this a few weeks ago because my old salad shooter, about 20 yrs old, started making a bad noise. I have always used it a lot and mostly for shredding cheese to have Fresh shredded cheese. Anyway, I replaced it with this Professional Salad shooter because the larger size for vegetables and potatoes. It works great! I sliced strawberries with it, I was afraid it would mash them up but it worked great and the slices were beautiful. I highly recommend this product and one reason is because of my experience with the original one.

We love the ease of using the salad shooter and that it is dishwasher safe. We use it weekly for making our healthy salad. I have had a salted shooter for over 20 years and finally upgraded to the larger version.

It works ok , but the slicing cones are the problem with this unit . I also believe it needs a little stronger motor like 200 watts instead of the 120 watts . This would definitely help speed thing up a bit .

Broken cone, after broken cone, after broken cone. I have had to replace several over the years. Plastic parts are to blame. If the cone was made with full steel it would fix the issue. People are sharing the same experiences on here and on other websites. It’s a great product and time saver but Presto, please build this better!

The gray plastic began breaking apart and I bit down on a piece of sharp plastic. I had to throw away a large bag of cheddar I'd shredded. I've had salad shooters for over 30 years.....this newest one was an upgrade a couple years ago. I'm afraid to use any of them now. So disappointed.

I bought this quite a while ago and finally used the ripple cutter. It worked really well to cut fancy carrots for a copper coin salad but was thinner than I prefer. I would like to see a thicker ripple cone (I did purchase all the extra cones available). My pretty green ripple cone and the clear acrylic both turned orange from the carrots. I remembered a household hint to wipe with a paper towel saturated in vegetable oil. That worked great and with a quick wash in dish soap & warm water rinse the orange color was completely gone. This was easier with quicker cleanup than my food processor. I do love Presto products. I have been using my 6 qt Presto pressure cooker for over 40 years.
