Formula change is AWFUL
I’ve been a loyal silk unsweet drinker for over a decade and now I can’t tolerate even a few drops in my coffee. This formula change is AWFUL. Please go back to the old version.

Vanilla
I’m allergic to milk so I buy this and I love the vanilla flavor versus the plain flavor. I use it for/in everything not just cereal. Highly recommend!!

No longer the same, tastes bad and doesn't froth
Same as what others have mentioned recently. The last few cartons I bought tastes so bad, i finally dumped out the last one and decided to spend a little more for a different brand. Won’t froth either. Just burns. Tastes bad froth and bad straight out of the carton. Will not buy again until Silk changes formula. Used to like this very much, not anymore.

Desperate for the Old Formula!
I have a child with a dairy allergy and this is what he has been drinking (and I cook with) since he was 1 year old. It is the only milk we have in tbe house and would easily go through 6 cartons a week. My kids suddenly stopped drinking it and didn't want it with cereal because of a different taste. I tried it and definitely noticed it was completely different and not a good flavor at all. I opened several other containers to find they all have the exact taste. PLEASE undo any recent formula or supplier changes and go back to how the milk was before. Allergy moms like me depend on you!

Something is wrong
What happened? Did they change the formula, or get their soybeans from somewhere else, the last 4 mills we got have been terrible, at a loss for what to give my kids now.

Terrible formula change
The formula change is terrible! The soy milk now is thin and watery, will not froth. Why change the formula when it was great the way it was?? Please change it back. There are so many plant based milk products with sugar- Silk Unsweet Organic Soy Milk was the best product that didn’t have sugar…until now. You are losing another customer. Please reconsider returning to the original formula.

FIX WHATEVER YOU DID
Honestly so disappointed. Weve been devoted silk organic unsweetened consumers for years and it has always been a great product that we'd buy 2 at a time. I thought for sure we somehow got a compromised package since it was not expired. The smell was off and it was undrinkable, dumped it. Opened the other container, same issue. The product literally smells/tastes rancid to me. Either this a formula change gone HORRIBLY wrong or you've compromised the quality of the ingredients you're using resulting in an inferior product. Please fix this, the vegan public needs you!!!!!!

Ruined a great product!
This was my favorite soy milk for decades and Silk has ruined it! There is a weird flavor and I understand they have added potassium iodide, making it less acceptable for people with thyroid issues! Whoever thought these changes were a good idea should be fired! Bring back the original creamy tasting soy milk so many of us loved! Now I’m going to have to find a different brand!

Silk ruined the only soy milk my family drinks!
I hate to pile on here, but I have been drinking Silk for over 25 years and my children have been drinking Unsweetened since they were toddlers. This morning my daughter refused to eat her cereal because the soy milk tasted so bad. So I opened another container after shaking it until my arms almost fell off, same disgusting, chalky mess. My wife just opened another container and used it to make a smoothie and it tastes like milk of magnesia. We have six unusable containers of this stuff, very disappointing. I guess we have to start testing other brands. RIP Silk.

Please bring back the original recipe! The new one tastes terrible! I thought it had gone bad so we kept trying new cartons and they all taste the same, kind of sour.

Changed for the worse
Silk unsweetened soy milk has been my favorite for years, but the last several cartons I’ve bought (expiration may 2026) taste completely different, and really bad. If anything has changed with the recipe or ingredients, please switch back!!!

Change it back
Our family used to LOVE the silk unsweetened soy milk. Now my kids won't drink it. It used to be amazing and delicious, but the flavor is too off with this new change . We don't care if the new formula has 8grams of protein. That doesn't matter if they won't drink it. We're so sad to lose a product that we really loved! But now we have to switch brands to something better tasting.

Production error or formula change- awful
Long time consumer and recent cartons show a terrible and distinct flavor change. No indication of new formula on packaging but two cartons with the following stamps are nearly undrinkable. 16 MAY 2026 09:27 48-0994 L10-7 16 MAY 2026 17:33 48-0994 L10-5

SILK, please bring back the older version! This new one is gross! It’s thinner and less creamy and just tastes bad! I have been buying this for years but I won’t be anymore, I’m so sad!

What are we drinking?
Here we go again! This time it is the organic unsweet soymilk. We bought 5 cartons with expiration date May 18, opened the first one, and it tastes like dirty water, opened the second one, same. What are you doing? Last time I sent a review was for the vanilla soy, which I stopped buying because of the bad reviews it had after changing the formula. And by the way, don't bother to respond to my review, because getting feedback without doing anything about it is a waste of everyone's time. I gave you a chance, now I'm out. Good luck!

Perfect for 15+ years--but new formula undrinkable
This was the only milk I would drink for the last 15+ years, with a perfect neutral (even delicious on its own!) flavor. The current batch expiring May 16th is undrinkable--thick, gloopy, chemical tasting, so overpowering I can't even taste my coffee. I thought it must have gone bad but all these reviews make it seem like a formula change. Please bring the old formula back! It wasn't broken, so why try "fixing" it?

Change in flavor along w/the return of small cap
These small caps are ridiculous. I can barely open the carton now! Silk debuted them some time again, phased them back out, and here they are again. But - more importantly: my son and I now get horrible stomach aches from Silk' Organic Unsweet Soymilk. We've been drinking it for years as our primary dairy-milk alternative, but something has changed. I noticed my own stomach aches last week or so, tied it to Silk, and stopped drinking it. I thought it was just me, but my son noticed this week that the milk has a new, bad flavor for him and now has also had stomach aches. We have 5 cartons in our fridge and I am going to see if the store will take them back. What's changed?

Disappointed: Flavor is now artificial and off-putting
I’ve been a loyal Silk Unsweetened Soy Milk drinker for a long time. Even though I’m not a fan of the gums in the ingredients, I kept buying it because the flavor was consistently good. Unfortunately, this new version is a massive step backward. It has a strange, artificial aftertaste that wasn't there before. I won't be buying this again until they go back to the original recipe.
