Q: Is the applicator plastic?

submitted by Indigo - 7 years ago
  • A: This is a shame (and a sham) that this brand is trying to advertise that they are a healthier alternative- but they are still using PLASTIC! Plastic will take centuries to biodegrade- use cardboard!

    submitted by2legit2quit - 6 years ago
  • A: STOP BEING ABLIST IN YOUR ANSWERS! Cora tampons are one of the ONLY disability friendly tampons on the market, and it is BECAUSE of their applicator style. We NEED that defined ridge at the end of the applicator to be able to grip it to insert/remove the applicator. Your eco-screaming is making disabled people's lives so unnecessarily hard. We have periods too.

submitted byCK - 4 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your interest in Cora and all that we're doing to improve women's health globally. Currently, our applicators are made of a bioplastic material. We're working on introducing a more biodegradable option this year. We also have applicator free options available :)

Q: Do you use wax or paraffin in your tampons?

submitted by S Han - 4 months ago
  • A: Yes, we use a paraffin wax on our tampon string to make removal more comfortable. Hope this helps!

Q: What do you recommend? My local store only sells, by regular and light tampons or regular and super tampons. My flow is only sometimes heavy, is a regular tampon from this brand enough for a heavy flow?

submitted by Megan - 1 year ago
  • A: We recommend starting with the Regular/Light pack and see if that suits your needs before trying the super tampon.

Q: FALSE ADVERTISING. why does the product info here say 100% organic cotton but the box ingredients say it also inlcudes "polyethylene, polyester, fiber finish"???--i have photo of box ingredients

Q: Is the cotton bleached?

submitted by hello - 6 years ago
  • A: Hello, great question. We use peroxide, not bleach, to clean the organic cotton in the tampons.

Q: I am on a search for a new tampon company. A popular brand advertises as 100% organic cotton however has been in quite a few lawsuits. Do you use titanium dioxide in your tampons despite labeling?

wanderlucy - 7 days ago
2 stars because it's organic but applicator was really cheap and flimsy. the top part would pinch and sometimes the tampon wouldn't come out. wasted a few tampons and these are pricey compared to other brands so wasn't happy about that. been using tampons for years so this is coming from someone with experience so it wasn't me..it was the applicator. Will be looking for other organic options

Sorry to hear you're having a difficult time with our compact applicators. Quick tip: extend the applicator until it clicks – that means it's all set to go. To see it in action, watch this: http://bit.ly/coracompactapp Also, if you are having issues with the tampons fully expelling, make sure that you are pushing the inner tube all the way up into the outer tube until the bottom of both tubes are touching. Hope this makes things easier for you!

These are the only tampons that do not affect my cycle. There really aren’t any tampons in stores that are 100% natural, but these are a close run up. I don’t get the cramping or stabbing pelvic pain that I used to with other brands. I have never had a leak issue. The cartridge can be finicky but nothing that manual manipulation can’t fix. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

I love that these are organic. They work well at protecting me during my period. The packaging of each individual tampon has changed. I don’t know what material they are wrapped in but I don’t care for it. I wish it was wrapped in something that was easy for me to put the used applicator back in. Keeps things cleaner and sometimes there isn’t a trash can near by and you need to put the used applicator back in your bag or pocket. And Sometimes it can be hard to push the tampon all the way through with this applicator. There isn’t a spot on the applicator for an easy grip. There are still so few organic tampon options though so these things don’t stop me from picking this brand.

Don’t buy it!! I wish that I would had read the reviews before purchasing. I was so excited because it was cheaper than the brand I typically buy and of course organic. But I wasted 6 tampons trying to insert it. I hurt myself in the process. The applicator is defective. They need to redesign it.

The new design is majorly flawed. The inner part of applicator is too short so tampon does not come out of the applicator. Wasted 3 before I gave up.

Doesn’t stay in and literally causes physical pain. The applicator is way too small. A man must’ve designed this. Was really excited because it was organic. I never write reviews but if this prevents even one person from wasting their money, it’s worth it.

the applicator is the worst!!! I've use them before and its never been like this. Just opened a box and have gone through about 8 of them not inserting correctly! so frustrating and definitely a waste of money!

We’re sorry to hear you’ve been running into trouble with our compact applicators. Make sure the applicator is fully extended until you hear a click before use. For the tampon to release properly, push the inner tube all the way up into the outer tube until the bottoms meet. You can see a quick demo here: http://bit.ly/coracompactapp. We understand how frustrating this is and appreciate you letting us know.

It’s not great at all! The applicator is terrible and has hurt me because I’ll end up pinching myself. It doesn’t cover a full 360 in comparison to other tampon brands. It’s not an easy application.
1 reply from Cora team - 1 month ago
We’re sorry you’ve had this experience. Our compact applicators work best when fully extended until they click, then the inner tube pushed completely into the outer until both ends meet. This helps ensure a smoother insertion. You can see the process here: http://bit.ly/coracompactapp. We appreciate your feedback on comfort and coverage and will share it with our product team.

Disappointed - 2 months ago, Verified purchaser
I’ve been using this product for a while (a year at least). However, the company changed the applicator. The part you push doesn’t push the tampon in properly. The bottom/part you push gets stuck on the outside of the tampon part itself. So when you think it’s in, you pull the whole thing (tampon and applicator) out and waste a tampon. This experience is new. But ladies, it’s not comfortable. And you’re paying extra to use organic. Matting last month was a 5, but they changed it.
1 reply from Cora team - 2 months ago
Thanks for letting us know about your experience. Our compact applicators should fully extend until they click before inserting — this helps ensure the tampon is released properly. Here’s a quick video showing the process: http://bit.ly/coracompactapp If the tampon isn’t releasing, make sure to push the inner tube all the way into the outer tube until the bottoms touch. This should prevent the applicator from pulling back out with the tampon. We appreciate your feedback.

Applicator is very difficult to insert and at times it took several tampons to get a successful insert. And it does not hold up well especially if you have heavy cycles. Very uncomfortable so you never know if you might be leaking or if it is about to fall out. Do not recommend!
1 reply from Cora team - 2 months ago
Thanks for taking the time to share this. It definitely shouldn’t feel that uncomfortable. Just a quick note: please make sure you’re extending the applicator until you hear a “click”—that sound means it’s fully ready. Also, if you’re having trouble with the tampon fully inserting, be sure to push the inner tube all the way into the outer tube until the bottoms of both tubes are touching. This video walks through the steps clearly: http://bit.ly/coracompactapp If you’d like to share more about your experience, we’re here at support@cora.life.
