A Bible for all families!
This is such an amazing Bible for families of any age! My 7 and 13 year old both very much enjoy how it is written. The author points out key importance’s, links Jesus as the reason, and let’s kids in on “adult knowledge” by breaking down some of the things that are harder to understand. It makes my kids feel like they are special to be able to understand. The author speaks in a light hearted, understanding tone, and does a great job breaking the big stories up into bite size pieces for kids, and asking questions to help get kids involved in understanding the Bible.

Great story bible
This is a light hearted story book but still sticks to the true stories. It adds little jokes almost in it. It’s very cute. Always points to Jesus as the reason for the stories including Old Testament.

Great Resource = Rich!
The Promises of God Bible Storybook ~ the Story of God’s Unstoppable Love by Jennifer Lyell is a beautiful devotional book. The introduction says that book is for children ages 3 to 10. However I would argue that it is for children ages 5 to 10. Each Bible story offers a reading based on a passage of scripture. There are then several questions that go along with each reading. Each reading is anywhere from 2 to 4 pages. There are up to four questions that follow each reading. I love that this can be done with a parent and child. Or an older child could read it themselves. However I do not think the content would work for a three-year-old. The illustrations in this book are beautiful. I believe it is a well done children’s devotional Bible. It is a wonderful resource to teach children the promises of God.
Starting to read the Bible is a great habit and a great time for parents and children to connect. This is a excellent resource to foster just that! The content is rich and valuable. I would recommend this book for children ages 5-10. I was given a free copy from the publisher for my honest review, which I was happy to do!

There are a ton of children's storybook Bibles to choose from. In fact we already own a ton of them. So why would we consider another one? Those are always my thoughts when I am offered a new children's storybook Bible. Will it just languish on the shelf or will it be one that stands out?
I'm happy to say that The Promises of God Storybook Bible is a standout among our collection. From the opening pages you can just tell that it is different. The illustrations have a lushness to them that makes you want to take your time looking at and enjoying turning each page.
The other thing that stands out are the stories themselves. Ms. Lyell chose to take the reader through scripture and explore the promises that God made with His people. There are the usual stories but what I loved were the ones that are not usually included. When was the last time you read a children's storybook Bible with an inclusion of Job? Not often I imagine.
Not only is there a very comprehensive overview of the Bible but it is written with the average four-year-old in mind. The author has taught young children in Sunday School for years and has developed an understanding of concepts that they long to be taught at a level they can understand. At the end of each story section she includes questions that will help you solidify with your little one what the Bible is teaching. Again these aren't run of the mill questions. A lot of thought has gone into them and I appreciate that.
I have several young grandchildren and I intend to get a copy for each of their houses. If you have young children or grandchildren this book is worth a look. Take your time and read through a few of the stories and I think you will be as impressed as I was.
I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
