I am a long time monoprice user. In general I think their products are great. For this particular product item, I believe they could do better. The center channel is no different than the four other speakers except of its orientation. in 5.1 systems the center channel speaker provides dialogue and most of the sound, this speaker should?ve had two drivers instead of one. I called customer service to purchase their standalone center channel with two drivers and it is not compatible since it is a six ohm speaker and this system is eight ohms. Consequently I had to add a different center channel speaker to the system to get it to sound up to my expectations.

Great sound! Mounting issues.
The speakers and subwoofer sound great. I hooked them up to an Onkyo TX-SR393. The mounting hole threads are not 1/4 20 - they are M6. I had to rethread the speaker mounts I had purchased. The satellites weigh ~5lbs.

This system put a smile on my face!
This system sounds great for not being a brand name. I hooked it up with the Sony STR DH-590 5.2 channel receiver ( $278 at Walmart ). It has great sound and nice bass for the loud war movie bombs and Jurassic Park dinosaur foot stomps and all that good stuff. I’m very happy with the whole system. You will not be disappointed

The sound is good but he holes in the back to mount the speakers were not machined properly... i had a hard time getting most of these speakers mounted

these actually go to 30hz at near zero db.
these actually go down to 30hz. i tested these with audio equipment and they are very very good.

Good speaker set for the money.
I replaced some older Polk speakers with these because my wife thought my polk were to big and obtrusive. These blend in good on our shelves and are small enough she doesn’t mind. I am still in the break in phase but they are doing Very good. I did notice that to get to the same volume as the polk speakers I have to have my receiver turned up to a higher level but that isn’t a problem. So far I am pleased with my choice and would recommend them for the money.
