Qdos Crystal Designer Baby Safety Gate - Hardware Mount

A: All Hardware Mounted Baby Safety Gates require you to drill into the wall. The benefit with the Qdos Crystal Hardware Mount Gate is that it only requires four holes to be drilled into the wall making minimal damage. Should you wish to avoid screws, you will need to look for a Pressure Mounted Gate. There are limitations with Pressure Mounted Gates that you are not able to use them at the top of the stairs due to the trip hazard and also that should the tension ever loosen, the gate may become dislodged.

A: Hi Christina--yes, this is a hardware mounted baby gate. If you're installing it into a banister, we have a banister adapter that attaches to your banister without screws so you can avoid damaging your woodwork with screws. You can contact Qdos Customer Support with installation questions including pictures of your home and they can help you figure out what you need.

A: The door of the Crystal Hardware Mount Gate is able to be opened both ways and it does also come with a one-way stop. A one-way stop would be used if the gate is being used at the top of the stairs or anywhere you would like to limit the gate from being able to open. A gate at the top of the stairs should never open over the stairs, but away from the first step to ensure the safety of those around the gate.

A: The Qdos Crystal Hardware Gate can only fit inside openings from 29.5" to 39.5". There are no extensions for this gate.

A: The Qdos Crystal Designer Gate door can swing in both directions. We do not recommend allowing the Gate to swing out over the stairs. The Hardware Kit does include a one way stop that can keep your Gate from swinging past the Fastmount Locking rail.

A: Hi Beatrix--you will need our Universal Stair Mounting Adapter, which fits round banisters up to 5" in diameter. This will create a flat surface to allow you to attach the Crystal Designer Baby Gate to. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to our customer care team.

A: Hi Matt--our Crystal Hardware Mount Baby Gate needs to be attached to your wall and/or banisters with screws. We also offer a Pressure Mount version of our Crystal Designer Baby Gate that does not require screws.

A: There are components of the Crystal Gate that will rust should it be placed in a damp environment, so we do not advise using the Crystal or any Qdos gates within a bathroom setting.
