The lampshades are thin and of poor quality. It looks more gray when the light is on than it does black. I’m very disappointed and will be returning them.

Shades are of good quality, at a fair price. I'd recommend them to anyone!

I love them they're so sophisticated I just wish that the inside was cold but none were available that way my lamp circled so I thought that would've been fabulous to have them golden side Siri please

Mottled dark gray when illuminated, depending on lamp strength. This is a nice contrast to the jet black when not lit.

While I received exactly the lamps as described, I am sorry that because of the lining, I believe, they do not remain black at night when the lights are on. They look lovely and solid black during the daytime.

After buying new furniture and an area rug for my living room I noticed my lampshades just didn't match with the colour scheme anymore. I looked everywhere for black lampshades in the same shape and size to match my lamps. No luck. After several searches online Lamps Plus site popped up. You had what I wanted. The shades are a wee bit smaller than my original ones but I'm very happy with the quality and the speed of delivery. Worth the price.

I'm pleased with the size and shape of this shade, even the look when the lamp is off. When I turned the lamp on you really notice the texture pattern of the shade.Looks more charcoal colored. I have another black shade and it just looks dense black this one looks mottled.

Very handsome work beautifully on my lambs wish they were a little bigger. I am having a great deal of difficulty finding shades that were larger than these. So I settled on these shades, even though they work I would’ve liked a larger shade.

I have two different lamps in my great room. My problem was that one lamp had a white shade, and the other had black. I decided that I wanted both to be black. However, I needed to find a rectangular shade in an exact size. I never thought I would be able to do it, but to my surprise, Lamps Plus had the shade that I needed. It was even in a similar material. I love it!

Exactly what I was looking for. Surprisingly not easy to find a rectangular lamp shade.

One would think that fine quality black lampshades would be a stock item considering how they pop up in just about every designer room, but not the case. These are ‘adequate’ until illuminated, when they reveal a ‘tweedy’ look that loses the effect of the black fabric, because, (wait for it), the shade isn’t lined. Once upon a time one could find them lined, not just in plain white (thus eliminating the ‘see thru’ effect) but in silver and gold metlalic which enhances ones’ space at night. But that was once upon a time..... Other than that they are a great shape and during the day, handsome and well-made. Additionally they arrived well-packed and undamaged.

Usually, lamp shades are quite pricey. Especially, black ones. This shade is black fabric with a white semi sheer plastic on the inside (I would prefer silver on the inside but white is ok.) I can always paint the inside; however, that would make the shade less translucent so I will likely leave it as is.
