This product does not have a mahogany finish. It is black. Other than the disappointment in color, this item was easy to put together and looks very nice. Not sure if I'll return it or try to stain/paint it.

Only downsides are the off-gassing and the assembly (easy but took some redoing to get the pieces to align)
