Base

Works beautifully. Except, buy this and your umbrella at the same time and read directions for each. The base comes with bolts for 2 different kinds of cross bars.

A lot of weight.

This is for the octagon base. I knocked off a star only because I think this is a little over priced. This base when filled is very heavy. I can't see anything short of tornado moving my umbrella. I could barely move each section to put it in place. Assembly was simple and I like how the pieces connect together. I used sand to fill mine, so I can't comment on water leaking. Some of my sand was wet and like others had said, it's impossible to fill. I poured the wet sand into a wheelbarrow and let it dry out. Another tip, a 2 liter pop bottle has the same threads as the base. You can cut the bottom off the bottle and screw it into the base to use as a funnel. Makes it easier for 1 person to fill the base.

Very sturdy base

Works great for my cantilever umbrella. Works with the models that have foot pedals too, you just have to use the cross extension and the long screws instead of the ones that come with your umbrella. It was kind of breezy the day I assembled mine. No swaying (although I wouldn't suggest using your umbrella in the wind).
