Themes within Scripture for little hands and hearts!
Baby Believers is a favorite series we have returned to time and time again. The newest book, “The Kingdom of Heaven: A Gardening Primer!” is the perfect Spring time addition to this precious series. This is a book that is sturdy enough to be held by little hands, and also beautiful enough to be a coffee table book. The text is theologically rich, with each page containing scripture text and references that bring themes within the scripture to life. These books have aided in making scripture relatable, understandable, and fun for my littles and I’m so happy to see this collection continue to grow!

Baby believer does it again!
We have been a long time fan of the Baby Believer series for a while and this one might be my favorite one ever! Each book contains beautiful illustrations and is full of biblical wisdom written in a way that my kids can understand and follow — and ask good questions! The Kingdom of Heaven is such a sweet book that connects the gardening themes of the Bible with His kingdom and the role we get to play in all of it. My kids love all things nature so it was no surprise that this book has been on repeat in our home lately. I would highly recommend this book and any book in the Baby Believer series if you’re looking to add biblical read aloud’s that keep your kids of all ages engaged and meditating on God’s Word.

Beautiful illustration of the Christian life!
We have all of the books in the Baby Believers series. They are some of the most well loved books in our library! The newest book to the collection, The Kingdom of Heaven, does not disappoint. Beautiful illustrations, as always! But most importantly, it describes different aspects of the Christian life in a way that kids can understand and uses scripture as reference. This would also be the perfect companion to a unit study on gardening or spring! I love the parallels between the Christian life and gardening. Absolutely beautiful read for kids and adults!

My favorite yet!
Baby Believers has done it again with the newest release, “The Kingdom of Heaven: A Gardening Primer!” We have been big fans of the Baby Believers series from the beginning and I think that this gardening primer is my favorite one yet. The scripture is beautifully complimented by the rich colors and stunning artwork. The board book is sturdy, making it easy for my toddler to flip through the pages while he points at the pictures. These books have been a great way to make scripture relatable and fun for my little ones and I’m so happy to see this collection continuing to grow.

An Excellent Resource for Little Ones Blooming in Faith
As a mom of four littles, I am always on the lookout for exceptional books with quality illustrations that help to encourage and nurture my children in faith. What a blessing the Baby Believers Books have been to our family over the years! This latest installment, The Kingdom of Heaven: A Gardening Primer, is no exception and is my favorite installment to date! Yet again, Danielle Hitchen has carefully woven Biblical truth in combination with Jessica Blanchard’s lush illustrations. Together the result is a rich tapestry of Scripture and art that presents the spiritual theme of gardening in a tangible, understandable way. Every page is captivating for both young and older hearts alike and offers a precious spiritual truth, gently planting seeds in little hearts. We have a family farm and enjoy gardening together, so the concepts of planting, tending, and harvesting are near and dear to us! As we anticipate spring and the joys of green and growing things, this book has encouraged and reminded us of the perpetual gardening and tending that the Lord does in our hearts. I love that this book concludes on the topic of harvest, offering us hope, and spurring us on as we await that glorious day. This is an excellent resource to discuss spiritual growth with young (and not-so-young!) children. It will be a special volume in our home for years to come!

Lovely Garden Primer!!
When I tell you this book is STUNNING. It is just the perfect combination of captivating, eye-catching illustrations with nuggets of Gospel truth. Danielle and Jess have knocked it out of the park (again!) with this lovely little book that brings the theological concept of the Kingdom of Heaven down to earth (literally. It’s a garden primer.) and to a little one’s eye-level. I have been reading this with my baby over and over and I can’t wait until she’s old enough to have conversations and begin to grasp these concepts. This book would be an amazing gift for Easter, a baby shower, or a spring addition to your little’s library! We love our Baby Believer books!

Gardening with Jesus
We were so pleased to add ‘The Kingdom of Heaven’ to our spring book collection. This christ-centered gardening primer has brought our family so much JOY. Each spring we plant a garden with our main learning focus being ‘parts of a plant’ and ‘needs of a plant’. However, this year we were able to expand our lessons by incorporating scripture centered around gardening. With carefully selected verses and beautiful pictures the ladies of Catechesis books have done it again!

Worth many rereads!
“Earth’s crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God, but only he who sees takes off his shoes” - Elizabeth Barrett Browning ----------------- It’s ever more important to me to choose children’s books that aren’t just entertaining, but foster an imagination to see God’s presence in the ordinary. Danielle Hitchen’s Baby Believer series hit all the marks for my children and myself - they have beautiful illustrations, fit in a bag, and make abstract theological concepts concrete and captivating. Heaven can seem especially abstract to children (and adults!), and Hitchen has outdone herself with The Kingdom of Heaven. Far more than a concept book, she takes the common images of “seed”, “roots”, and “harvest” and narrates the story of God’s cosmic redemption of creation. Children will love the pictures of healthy soil, alive with roots and worms, reciting how that is an image of a virtuous heart. Adults will be inspired to get out of our abstract theologizing and get our hands into the dirt. This book has helped me see that I am dirt and to dirt I shall return; yet this very dirt - our garden and our bodies - will one day be restored. As quoted on the first page of The Kingdom of Heaven, “You are God’s garden”, called to co-labor with Christ in the “wondrous work of resurrection”. (1 Corinthians 3:9 CEV; Vigen Guroian, The Fragrance of God). What sets The Kingdom of Heaven apart is that you are reading straight scripture to your child. I love that when my child climbs into my lap and puts this book in my hand, I will be better for it, too. With every re-read (and reread and reread!), we naturally memorize scripture and learn to recall it when we see flowers in a field or weeds on our lawn. So may this book be read over and over, developing both your child’s and your own sacramental imagination of “your kingdom come”. May it inspire us with our children to get outside, plant a garden, and take off our shoes.

Love it!
The Baby Believer books are some of our favorite books. We love how their books are strictly scripture. Something that is difficult to find these days! The author, Danielle, has such a gift for pairing scripture to learning concepts such as growing, watering, and planting. We love the illustrations in the book and the super bright and vibrant colors. Jessica Blanchard is a great artist that captures God’s creation in such a unique and creative way. The Kingdom of Heaven is a top notch board book and is perfect for children of all ages!

Beautiful & truth-filled books!
My family loves the Baby Believer primer books and have been blown away by the new title in the series - The Kingdom of Heaven: A Gardening Primer. Danielle and Jessica have done it again with beautiful pictures and thoughtful words straight from Scripture to go along with the theme. My son loves the pictures and I love that I’m reading such Truth to him! I love that this came out in March because it is perfect for springtime and summertime! It’s a great Easter basket filler or baby shower gift! My husband is the Children’s Director at our church and he will be ordering this to add to the nursery bookshelves!

Stunning Toddler Discipleship Resource
The Kingdom of Heaven: A Gardening Primer is another great book from the Baby Believer series. This beautifully illustrated board book features scriptures that have gardening references to introduce your little one to gardening. It is an amazing resource to use for scripture memory with your child. I think many gospel conversations about sanctification and growth in the Christian life can be had using this book as a tool. So many creative ways to incorporate this wonderful book into your homeschool lessons or discipleship time with your children. The illustrations are absolutely stunning too! I recommend this book along with others in the series. You will be amazed how impactful it will be on your child to teach them practical and spiritual things. Perfect for baby shower gift, Easter basket or Sunday school/ nursery room.

Gardening and a growing faith
Hello Spring and hello to the perfect companion book for little believers and gardeners alike. Gardening and raising children who grow strong in their faith are two of my passions as a mother of two small children. Danielle Hitchen's newest book, The Kingdom of Heaven is such a great board book primer that combines both faith and gardening into one beautifully done children's book that follows the concepts from seed, to bloom, to harvest. It speaks to how our faith starts small like a seed, yet when nurtured it will grow just like our own backyard garden. The text draws simple yet powerful parallels that are easy for children to understand. I couldn't be happier to add this book to our collection of Baby Believer books and love that my children enjoy the faith filled text and illustrations as much as I do.

The perfect spring book!
Spring is here and The Kingdom of Heaven is the perfect way to welcome the new season in! It captures the beauty of the colors and creation we see this time of year and also brings in the very familiar activity mix gardening. My girls, who are still under 5, love the changing seasons and watching seeds turn to stems and the stems turn to buds. I enjoy that I can use nature as a teaching tool. With this book, you can bring in verses from the Bible to each step in the gardening process! You can talk about how life is by God’s hand. You can show the beauty of His creation. And you can end with teaching how we can apply it to our own walk with Him, in how we can grow in Christ. This book is stunning and a must have for your child’s library!

This book is truth, goodness, and beauty
It always amazes me how Danielle Hitchens is able to take a concept (shapes, colors, gardening) and connect it with deep spiritual truths, yet make it so easy for kids to understand. The Kingdom of Heaven is a beautiful book that illustrates the journey of the Christian walk in such a tactile way. I’m not much of a gardener, but this book makes me want to dig my fingers in some dirt along side my children. The artwork by Jessica Blanchard is top notch as always. I think as a parent it can feel daunting to find excellent Christian kids books. So many books water down topics or are reduced to moralism. And many books that might have more rich theology have artwork that is uninspiring. But the Baby Believer series by Catechesis Books never fails to produce books full of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Extremely sturdy pages!
Our family has enjoyed other books in the Baby Believer series, so I was eager to read this latest book. It did not disappoint! Jessica Blanchard's illustrations are even more detailed than in previous books -- plants and flowers lend themselves well to terrific art. The book's opening theme is "garden", quoting Genesis 2:8,15 (the garden of Eden), and I Corinthians 3:9 (you are God's garden). It then continues on through pages featuring seed, soil, planting and watering, roots, growth, weeds, flowers, fruit, and pruning before closing with the theme of "harvest". All the text in this book is taken directly from the Bible, using a variety of translations. The result is a story-like narrative in plain language which flows naturally, making it easy to read aloud. Unlike many cheap board books which are barely more than cardstock, this one is actually thick and sturdy, the way board books used to be. While I got this book with my 3-year-old in mind, I was delighted to see my 12-year-old was also taken in with the beautiful images and verses. Such a lovely addition to my home library, and a beautiful reminder to give glory to the Creator and Lord of all.

Another solid book! No 2CV
If you’re looking for a beautiful series to add to your littles’ bookshelf, look no further than here. We own about half of the collection and as an avid gardener I was very eager to get this book! Not only are the illustrations lovely (seriously, I would buy prints of pretty much every page) but the content is great as well. Each page has a theme ie garden, roots, growth, weeds, as well as scripture to accompany it. For my youngest, two, she is happy to flip through and just listen while my older children, 6, 6, 7-nearly-8 are more inquisitive and we can discuss and apply. Another useful and fun tool to add to my home, and just in time for spring! I would recommend this book to anyone searching for Christian board books. This would seriously make such a sweet gift!

Beautiful scripture art
I want to teach my children the Bible, because it is the truth on which their lives should be based. We love books in our home, and my favorites are ones that point them to the Word of God. Jessica and Danielle have done it again and put together a book that brings to life Bible verses in a way that the entire family can enjoy and be encouraged by. Every single page is bursting with life, from the carefully selected verses that ARE life to the beautiful illustrations. It is all intentionally done and we are excited for this addition to the Baby Believer series. They are all wonderful.

Great Book!
Our family loves all the books in the Baby Believer series. They have been a great tool for teaching our children about the Christian faith. This book is no exception. The gardening theme is fun and interesting to our children (2, 5, and 7 years old). The illustrations are well-done. The Bible frequently uses agricultural-inspired lessons to teach God’s truth. This book incorporates many of those passages through the gardening theme. All the Baby Believer books are made very well and have held up great even after being carried around by our toddler(s).

Perfect Gift For Baby Shower Or Little One's Birthday
Danielle Hitchen’s Kingdom of Heaven Gardening Primer is our family’s first book from the Baby Believer series and it certainly won’t be our last. Off the bat, the colors and illustrations in this book are so beautiful. I aim to help train my little ones to see how beautiful creation is, so that they might appreciate it and give more glory to God for it. The beauty in this book helps with that goal! More than the illustration, the truth and the beauty in its simplicity is even more beautiful. I love being able to walk our children through these different themes all while keeping it grounded in scripture. This book is the perfect gift to bring for your next baby shower or birthday party for a little one. I’m so glad to have had this as we enter into the Spring season!

A Beautiful Book
Another amazing addition to the Baby Believers series! Danielle and Jessica have done it again. Never did I think there could be a primer about gardening, but Danielle has proven me wrong. She knows exactly the perfect verse to go with each part of the gardening theme. Each verse is age appropriate for my girls and I am able to help them deepen their faith more with the beautiful images and realistic examples that my girls can understand. Jessica takes the words and ideas from Danielle and turns them into gorgeous images that are rich in color and make your eyes look at every inch of every page. I love this series and am so thankful to God for inspiring Danielle and Jessica to bring these ideas and thoughts to life. These books, individually or as a collection make for great gifts as well!
