A Lovely Scent — Great Alternative to My Old Favorite
Finding a new favorite after a product gets discontinued is always a relief, and this one delivered. I started using the Downy Rosewater Aloe Fabric Softener after my longtime favorite Downy Rose and Amber scent was discontinued, and this has been a really nice replacement. The scent is fresh, soft, and slightly floral without being overpowering. It leaves clothes smelling clean and cozy rather than perfumey, which I really appreciate. It’s one of those fragrances you notice in a subtle way when you’re folding laundry or putting clothes on. Performance-wise, it does exactly what I want from a fabric softener — clothes feel softer, reduce static, and come out of the dryer smelling great. If you liked the discontinued rose scents from Downy or just want something floral but still clean and approachable, this is definitely worth trying. Small things that make daily life easier are always worth it.

I’m done with Downy. I’m still furious about the Cashmere Glow being discontinued…and I’m not alone. I finally fell for the Shea Light and poof that’s gone now too. Lifetime user opinions do not mean squat.

Because we have strict quality controls and it’s unusual for a package to leave our plant with less than the proper amount of product in it, this isn’t expected. It might help to know that all of our Downy Fabric Softeners are filled by weight, not volume. Each bottle holds, at minimum, the ounces stated on the label. The bottle may not appear to be full, as space is left to allow for neat pouring. Without some “air space” at the top, pouring the liquid would be very messy, likely causing spilling over the pour spout.
