We recommend using distilled water in your humidifier or using a decalcification cartridge filter (model PEHUMDCAL) if you continue to use tap water. For thoroughly cleaning the unit, we recommend the following steps: - Fill the tank with 2 cups of undiluted white vinegar. - Swish the solution in the tank to ensure the tank is completely coated with the solution. - Let it sit for a minimum of one hour, swirling it around occasionally. - Using a soft bendable brush, scrub the inside of the tank. - Rinse thoroughly. - Place a thin dish towel or paper towels inside the tank and turn the tip of the towel to absorb the excess water. - Remove the towel and air dry as normal.
