I have been using the Revlon ColorSilk Hair Color in the shade 12 Natural Blue Black for years. It has not yet disappointed me to say it is a drug store product. It does amazingly at gray coverage.

I’ve used many different brands and I will say Revlon Colorsilk Cherry Red was the worst I’ve ever had. It took over 30 minutes to try & rinse the dye out of my hair after the initial treatment and even after that the water was still red. Turned my towels, pillowcases and clothes red even weeks after. Washed my hair 4-5 times afterwards and red dye was still washing out of my hair. The color itself was very pretty but this has never happened to me in all the 10+ yrs of coloring my hair. I had bought 2 boxes of this because it was much cheaper than all the other brands but now I see why. I returned the 2nd box as soon as I could.

I absolutely loved this product and then they switched the formula. For years I've used this brand, and I will be switching. I dyed my hair by instruction, just as I always have, and have worked very hard over the last few years to keep my hair healthy. This new formula COMPLETELY dried out my hair. The breakage is crazy!!!!! And all of the work I've done to relieve frizz and heal my curls has gone out the window. DO NOT USE THIS NEW FORMULA. And Revlon, PLEASE switch back. My poor hair.

Revlon is one of the better hair coloring products that I’ve used. They are a lot cheaper and as far as instructions, they are easy to go by and they come with everything in them as well and they’re not really strong scented. Also the coverage on them is very well and they don’t destroy your hair.

Nothing was good about this product. I got a chemical burn from touch a small part of the solution, and that should have been my first indication of lack of quality. Then I used it on my hair and it made my scalp very irritated. Finally when I rinsed it out I realized that the color was nothing like what was shown on the box. My hair is about 6 shades darker now than shade on box. I was a blonde now am.a brunette. Sadly, will have to recolor. I have been coloring my hair for 30 years and never had such poor results. If I could give zero stars I would

Revlon Colorsilk hair color is good for the price. Does a decent job in covering my roots. If only Revlon could create a natural medium blonde shade then that would be great. The ash tones in either dark or medium blonde seem to pick up too much warmth in my hair for some reason.

After trying multiple different things, I used the shade Blue Black to tone my coppery roots after an ill fated dye job lol. Worked perfectly. Left it on for about 7 minutes… it gets dark quick. Now it looks more ashy toned. Love it! Not sure how long it will last but plan to keep this in the cabinet.
