Q: Is this hear and serve or just a powder?

A: These are actually curry/roux cubes that you add to the meat/veggies/liquid and they melt in and flavor/thicken the liquid into a delicious curry sauce. They do make some packages of heat/eat meals.

If you like the flavors of curry sauce from the United Kingdom this has the closest “chip shop curry” flavor of anything we have tried over the years. We add onions, peppers and sometimes slow cooked chicken and serve with rice and/or CHIPS (fries) with cheese (chips, cheese and curry sauce IYKYK).

My husband and I gave this a try after craving Japanese curry since moving back to the US and it was a hit! The only reason why I didn’t give it the full 5 stars is because we did not taste any spice. We were hoping there would be a mild spice to it but were disappointed on that end. Good stuff and haven't grown a 3rd eye yet
This is my go-to brand for Japanese curry. I wish this Target carried the mild version more often. Regarding the lead warning, please review Prop 65 and make your own informed decision. Prop 65 has good intentions but its not always as it appear. Sometimes, the chemicals on that list are naturally occurring, and other times, it's just easier to add the label than to dispute it and it doesn't actually contain the item on the warning at all.

I forgot to take a photo because I wasn’t going to write a review but this product has the California Law notice regarding containing lead. It is interesting that you don’t see that notice in the Target images but it is on the box. California is obligated to add a notice if any of their food, jewelry etc has lead in it which is why it does mention that it’s a California law that forces them to mention it on the box. FYI, I did eat it at my own risk and it did taste like the Japanese curry I ate at an asian restaurant. I add potatoes, carrots and white onions like the box say in its instructions.

The box says it’s a medium hot. I know this is pulling hairs, but I’d probably said it’s a mild hot. There’s barely any spice. If you’re looking for spicy , like I was, I’d go with atleast their hot. Otherwise, it’s classic Golden Curry flavor.
