The last 2 big jars of Extra Crunchy Skippy Peanut Butter have been a disappointment. The oil separates and is real soupy. The best if used by date is August 26, 2024, with lot #LR200:23. Why has the product changed or is this a bad batch like my previous jar?

I've been using this for years. The j28 ounce jar I just bought is so runny it's almost liquid. Stirring helps but every time I open it again it's back to runny. Very disappointed in the quality.

Whatever Skippy has done to increase profits and change the formula it is terrible! My last 3 jars have been so runny I can pour it out and it does not even stay on a knife. Seriously charge more if you have to but don't just package peanut oil in a jar and sell it as peanut butter.

Something has changed. Very soupy now.

I have been a lifetime fan of Skippy Superchunk…until now. What did you do to your formula? Product is now almost soupy and very oily. I noticed this immediately upon opening. IMO you have decreased peanuts perhaps and incrementally increased oil content, perhaps to increase profits thinking we wouldn't notice. Wrong! Beginning with my next jar I will be shopping for a new brand.

I have been a loyal Skippy Super Crunch customer since it came on the market. Something has obviously changed within the formulation. It is a thinner product and the flavor has changed.

Disappointed - 2 months ago
originally posted on http://www.peanutbutter.com
I want my Skippy back. I miss my morning ritual of Skippy SuperChunk on toast, bagel, cracker even just a spoon. But, it's so oily and disgusting now that I can't stomach it. The oil gathers in a pool on top of and throughout the peanut butter. Even stirring doesn't help because it's still very oily. I've purchased several jars over many months hoping it would be back to its former consistency but no luck. Please please resolve this issue.

We buy the large jar that lasts a few months for two of us. The jar we just purchased had a lighter, fluffier texture and the taste is not as appealing as in past jars. Nothing has changed regarding how we store the peanut butter.

So many folks seem to be frustrated with the separated oils. **Take a junky butter knife and stir it!** This PB ruined all other peanut butter for myself, my husband, and my dog. It's so incredibly good, not too sweet or salty, and my German Shepherd goes NUTS (pun intended) over it! I can't imagine peanut butter and honey, PB and banana, ot Fluffernutter sandwiches without it!!

Terrible Shrinkflation

This is my standard peanut butter brand and type that I have bought for over a decade. They obviously changed and she pinned down the recipe because there's nothing crunchy about it, there's hardly any nuts left in it and the texture is completely different. Super chunk, my tail. You have to hunt to find tiny little pieces of peanuts in the jar. Terrible and you lost a lifelong customer.

I've read several reviews here regarding the oil in your product. I've been eating Skippy exclusively for over 50 years and I would have to say that in the last year it has been exceptionally oily and thin. It is the same with both creamy and chunky. I have purchased from both stores and on line. In the past I would have rated Skippy 5 stars but can only give 3 stars to this new peanut butter. I've always loved Skippy and would hate to switch brands. What's up?

I'm a peanut butter addict but something has changed with this recipe. It's far too oily now. Thought I just had a bad bunch but several jars have been like this now. Probably going to search for a new brand.

i've been eating Skippy chalk, peanut butter, since I was a kid, over 50 years ago. The last six months to a year(?), the peanut butter has been incredibly oily. The first when I got months ago, I threw away I've now bought about five or six jars, and all the same. It's just completely saturated with oil. Can you explain to me what's going on? Otherwise I'm going to look at another brand.

What's the deal with the oil standing on the top of the peanut butter? It's there when you open it, and even if you mix it up, the peanut butter gets thin and the oil comes back to, again, stand on top of the peanut butter. If the makers of Skippy think this is a great new thing -- that's fine for them, just let me know so I can stop buying jars just to throw them away, as I've done with 2 of the last 6. I realize they're probably fine to eat, they're just disgusting. And this has been consistent for the last several months. I think I'm done with Skippy -- too expensive to throw away.

Something Has Changed For The Worse......

I have grown up on Skippy, and the last few jars the consistency has changed and has too much oil in it. If this continues, there's no way I can continue to eat it. Have been eating for over 50 years and so has my family. It's a shame that it's changed. It's like when Coke changed their formula, if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
