Q: Hi! I just got this and really like it, but we have it under our counter overhang so it is constantly open bc of the sensor. Is it possible to turn off the automatic sensor and just hit open/close manually?

This product is easy to use. You don't even have to touch it Just wave your hand over the sensor the lid opens and closes in 5 seconds. If you push the open button it will stay open. They say for 15 minutes and then close but I haven't tested that. This is a great garbage can. The motion sensor works as described and it's QUIET!

This garbage can is made strong and it runs off of four AA batteries. The motion sensor is quick to react and the opening seems slow, even slower when the batteries start to fade. This garbage can is lower to the ground small enough to fit under a kitchen cabinet or put out in your kitchen, garage or craft room. I’m super happy with this this sensory garbage can!!!

This was very poor quality especially for the price. First the batteries had to be squeezed in because the battery compartment wasn’t really sized right. But the dealbreaker is that the sensor didn’t work well. Sometimes it opened - maybe 40% of the time. Most of the time it didn’t open at all and we just kept the lid propped up defeating the purpose. At that point I decided to just return it.

I ordered this trash can because I needed a new trash can in my kitchen and it works great. It is compact, easy to use, and very sleek. I have a small kitchen and it does not take up a lot of space. I also like the fact that it came with some trashbags. A good find!

I purchased this garbage can as a Christmas gift for my parents. Our dog was always getting into the garbage and this prevented her from continuing that behavior. Not only is there the lid that prevents her from going into it but there’s a small noise it makes and it acts as a deterrent. Perfect purchase!

Very nice addition to my kitchen. This can is elegant looking and non stated which allows it to blend in my small kitchen area. The sensor works great and opens and closes as it should. It was easy to put together. Good quality and great size.

What I like most about this sensory garbage can is that it makes cooking and cleaning easier. If I am throwing away the fat off of a chicken let’s say I am completely grossed out if I have to touch my regular garbage can but with this new garbage can I can just wave my finger over sensor to open and close it. I love that so much. Also this garbage can is made to stay neat and clean and tidy with the garbage bag tucked under the lip and then put into the container. You will not see the garbage bag hung over the sides because they are tucked away. Great feature. This garbage can is made strong and it runs off of four AA batteries. This garbage can is lower to the ground small enough to fit under a kitchen cabinet or put out in your kitchen, garage or craft room. I’m super happy with this this sensory garbage can!!

My friend had an auto open trash can. Loved it, aside from fact hers opened at the slightest movement. I bought this one on a whim and I love it. It opens with a slight wave of the hand. It stays open for 30 seconds, then shuts. Or you can tap open and it will stay open for 15 minutes. Tapping close will close it sooner than 15 minutes. And this one doesn’t open anytime your near it. You have to wave your hand. This was important as I didn’t want my tallish dog to be able to open it! It takes 4 AA batteries. Not sure how long they last as only had it 3 weeks. It uses regular size garbage bags. (13 gallon).
