The S1 PLUS Hospital Strength Double Electric Breast Pump with inbuilt RECHARGEABLE BATTERY provides all the features of the S2, with the addition of an inbuilt rechargeable battery. This means that you are now able to benefit from the efficiency, power and performance of a hospital strength breast pump, without compromising on portability. Like all Spectra pumps, the S1 is a closed system - a physical barrier between the milk and the pump ensures hygiene and motor performance. With a maximum suction strength of 250mmHg and the ability to be used as a single or double pump, plus a host of additional features, the S1 is set to become the ultimate breast pump to support U.S. moms. The S1's completely flexible, touch button, with the S1 pump's digital controls allow you to set the pumping program to the speed and rhythm most effective for your body. The suction is adjustable in both let-down and expression mode. This quiet pump also includes a timer and night light.
l like this pump, I think it works really well for me in a short amount of time but am disappointed that for the price you pay, it doesn't even come with a bag or tote to carry it. Pros for the spectra are that once fully charged I can use it cordless for days(I pump 2x/day, ~10minutes and get about 5-7oz). Before this pump, I had the Medela PISA several years ago that I also loved. Although I really like how well this pump works, I have too many downsides that I think are simply inconvenient. Cons are that the bottles are sensitive when used with the nipples. It has to be tightened just right otherwise you risk spilling milk. Honestly, I don't have time for guessing if I tightened it correctly each and everytime I feed my little one nor do I want to risk wasting breastmilk. My LO eats best with the Spectra bottle nipples, so we use a 3rd brand of bottles and collars just for feeding as the spectra nipple doesn't quite sit perfectly with the Phillips Avent bottles (we use for milk storage).
Love the pump, just wish the bottle collection system was better.
Ok so, I hate to be THAT person who has that negative review combating hundreds of positive reviews but... unfortunately this pump didn’t do much for me. I haven’t pumped more than an ounce in 20 mins with this pump ever. Yet, every time the 20 mins are up, I express my own milk and it literally shoots out so it is evident to me that this pump just doesn’t work very well. I’ve tried both sizes. I’ve tried this product just over a month, every single day, several times a day. It just isn’t working for me. I am sad to say I will be returning this product which I’d initially hoped to love.
This is the second Spectra S1 that I’ve purchased. I bought this for my wife so that she can have at work as well as at home. She really loves the the brand of pump. It’s quiet & it doesn’t hurt her nipples like I’ve heard some other brands can.
After the birth of my baby I was renting the medela symphony because that's what I knew from when I had my twins. I loved that pump! I was going to buy one but I couldn't find anyone who would sell a new one. They just rent them. So I tried the medela pump in style. HATED IT. It quit pumping after the first couple uses. I have a friend who let me try her spectra. It took some getting used to since I was so used to the symphony. I was positive I wasnt going to find a pump as good as the symphony. Nothing was going to empty out the breasts like that one. Or so I thought. But let me tell you! The Spectra is wonderful! I love how I can take it anywhere I go and pump in the car without being plugged up. I have loved this pump since I bought it, and altho we are done having babies, I would buy this one again in an instant.
