Latch is Awful
It’s pretty, but the latch is confusing. Out of the 6 adults in our house none of us could figure it out! And having it at the top of the stairs is unsafe if we have to struggle every time we need to go through it.

Disappointed. Save your money
breaks easily. We had this gate and the red lock feature broke so I decided to purchase a new gate. I buy it, get it home, open it up, and find out that the latch piece is broken. I returned it to Target and got a new one. I get this one home and set it up and a DIFFERENT lock piece is broken on it as well. This is now the 2nd time I've received a broken gate straight out of the box. This gate does NOT hold up and is NOT worth the price. This gate has so many different lock pieces and all are completely plastic. Clearly not durable.

Easy set up but my 2 1/2 year old can now open it. The latching mechanism can easily be opened by a child. Depress two buttons and push, no lifting is necessary with this gate.

Don't use on stairs
Target says you can mount this in the stairs. The manufacturer says that it can't. Target needs to update the product specs to clearly state that this is not to be used on the stairs before someone is injured.

Broke
The gates are great at first. We bought two and both broke. There are two pieces that keep the latch the gate closed and both pieces broke on both the gates.

I’ve tried several baby gates, but all of the previous ones were easy for my kids to learn or fit and installed improperly. This one, however, is the best one yet! It keeps my kids safe and allows my oldest to not climb over it or him figuring out how to open it. Since my oldest leaves gates open without regard, this one is a great solution.

Do not buy this!
This is a horribly designed gate. The foot piece for opening the gate is awful and if you open it at the top you have to use two hands. Plus the this gate is held shut with a flimsy piece of plastic.

Horrible design
Horrible design/engineering. Purchased because it said I didnt have to drill holes into frame. Guess what? YOU DO! Secondly thegate gate locks do not align making it impossible to open. This is due to the odd sozed extensions whoch do not fot .standard door frames. Returning this tomorrow

Push Grey Latch, Pull up HARD, then swing gate
Once we figured out proper pressure for screws and how to open the gate it works very well. The function of the latches is not obvious. We can’t figure out how to use the foot latch - so don’t feel bad if you can’t either (and I’m an engineer…) To install make sure the gap at the top and bottom of the latch side are equal and about 1/8” wide. To open push the grey latch open and pull up HARD, then swing open forward or backward. Eventually you’ll get the feel.

Not great for littles
We installed this gate in a hallway to keep our cat out of the front of the house. It works great for that. However, if this was a gate I had to use every day, or while holding a baby, it would have gotten returned. Like other reviews have stated, it is very difficult to open. I wouldn’t be able to do it easily with something in my arms/hands. And on top of that, it is LOUD when it opens and closes. Again, if I were carrying a sleeping baby, I’d be struggling and the sound would probably wake her up.

It's overly complicated, and you have to use more force to open it than you should, which makes it slip and slide across the walls you put it up against. My walls now have black smudges, and my feet are bruised from using this. Don't buy. Buy a more simple one which does hurt your walls or your feet. Waste of money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was fairly simple to install. It had extra sections to add if you needed it to cover a larger area. It is a little more difficult to open but I love that for my older grand daughter. I really love how tall this one is too
