Tanologist Firming Gradual Tan Lotion - 8.45 fl oz

I got this because I like having just a light tan year round. It was not gradual. I immediately had a “tan” and after the second time of use it was streaky. I gave it three stars bc the product did make me semi tan and the streaks could be from user error.

I’ve been using this daily for the past month and I will say it does give you a gradual glow if you do use it daily 1-2 times a day. However, I just recently noticed my skin has been itching like crazy! No visual bumps or rashes but can’t stop itching now. So I’m going to stop using it and see if that was the cause.

Best tanning lotion I have used in my life. No streaking. You can layer for more color as soon as the first coat dries. The smell is a normal fake tan smell but Jergens is way worse. I am on my second bottle. Purchased the one for light to medium skin. Will be a forever customer, I can’t say it enough how well this works and glides on like butter.

Okay so I would NOT consider myself a self-tanner expert, but I've done it before and have much preferred a spray tan. Due to my sloppiness I've always given myself streaks. This is by far the EASIEST self-tanning product I've used. After just one use it gave me a great glow! If you want a more immediate color change then I would double up on layers. I will say mine was still a little patchy in certain areas, but I think this is more user error on my part and can be easily solved by using a tan mitt. I used a brush for my fingers and neck and that seemed to be the right move. I will say what others have expressed as it leaving a slight fake-tan smell after its developed but I think this could be masked with a lotion. Overall, I think this is a great alternative when you want something at home, and the price point is amazing!

I really wanted to love this product as I love tanologist. It does give off a nice bronzed color but no where near dark as It claims. The smell is terrible at first it’s lovely but as it processes it smells like fake tan that needs washed off this is the biggest problem for me. I do not recommend if you don’t like the smell of fake tan and actually want to be dark.

I dont ever use self tanner but I wanted something to give me alittle glow during winter. It definitely works - it gives you that buildable glow. It does smell like coconuts when you first put it on but after the smell on your body gives thar tanning bed smell. But I can deal with it. Be careful over elbows, knees and ankles. Pretty much anywhere dry. I did exfoliate before use but it still sticks and changes dry areas to a slight fake tan orange look. Again not terrible - but it's alittlw noticeable. I will continue to use this.

I was pleasantly impressed by this impulse purchase. Coverage is not thick but not sheer, and dries very fast with a pleasant scent. Gradual realistic color began after 2 tries. And let's talk about the price point!

Smells amazing, almost like vanilla!!! Not sticky and leaves you tanner after one use. Don't think just buy hun.

I wanted to love this but that's not totally the case. It does work, however it does take a few days in my opinion to see any real change. My biggest complaint is that it smells like a spray tan. I am not a fan of how spray tans smell and how no matter what perfume you use you can't disguise the scent. If I wanted to smell like a spray tan I would just self tan that way which would be a lot faster. It is very hydrating and also easy to apply. Overall it does work but it depends what you're looking for. A spray tan would be quicker and easier but this is nice as an everyday use besides the smell.

Ok so, I'll admit before I bought this I knew literally nothing about self-tanning lotion, and I was highly sceptical. I am fairly pale, and don't really tan in the sun, so I bought the medium to dark lotion in the hope that I'd get darker faster. And HOLY MOLY it actually works! I have literally applied this three times, and I am noticeably darker than I was in the beginning of the week. Not orange at all, but actually tan. It starts to kick in only an hour or so after I apply it, and keeps working the rest of the day. And the best part of all: it doesn't damage your skin! I will say though, just be careful to not apply too much in one area, because it can create slightly darker patches on your skin. Other than that 10/10 recommend. It also smells really good and leaves my skin silky smooth afterwards.

Since this lotion goes on clear its hard to see where its going. In the future I will use this product without the drops and use it every other day or so to keep up with a tan. Other than it being hard to see where it’s applied it smells great and leaves a great color!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tan from this lotion looks pretty realistic and not orangey, which can be difficult with fair skin. The lotion felt a bit thin and not as moisturizing as I'd like it to be. It was also a little bit difficult to tell where I applied the lotion to so I accidentally ended up with missed spots. As a tanning newbie, I prefer the drops, but overall I don't think it's a bad product.

As someone who works in an office building for the majority of the day I was excited to try self tanner for a bit of color. I think this lotion application was probably easier than some other products on the market. I did end up with some splotches but not too noticeable. It was a gradual darkening.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice gradual tan lotion. Others I’ve used have faded very patchy. This one faded beautifully, and gave me a nice even color. I washed my hands after applying without gloves, and it didn’t stain my hands, but also gave them some color as well. I will most likely be repurchasing this!
