Absolutely disappointed. Even cried today: the smell is terrible, like dishwashing liquid, the formula too. Where is that refreshing delicious aroma and shampoo structure?! The sellers in the store lied to me again: the same shampoo, nothing changed, only the package. I understood from the first time that something has changed. I don't know how to wash now my hair: this new shampoo smells awful, and shampoos from other brands don't suit me, I've been using only the old version of PM Lemon Sage for over 15 years.

Took a perfectly excellent product and ruined it. The smell is so strong it sets off my asthma. Can no longer use a product I have used for years. What a shame.

PM Ruined a Good Product. Why?!

I have been using Tea Tree Thickening Shampoo, Tea Tree Thickening Conditioner, and Awapuhi Shampoo for over a decade. These new formulas, like all the reviews below state, is horrible. Bad smell, bad formula, etc. Seems like this unneeded change was done to a lot of PM's products. Seems like a move so bad I had to look up and see if Paul Mitchell had been bought up by a Private Equity Firm (which are known for buying successful companies up, to only lower quality and costs to make a fast profit then let the company die and use the debt for other investments via the confusing system that is our economy). Paul Mitchell, please return to the old formulas. (Note: Not sure why, but after I posted my first bad review I was unable to leave further reviews under my old Nickname. Since I want to review all 3 of the products I used, please know these are not spam reviews.)

Been using this shampoo for almost 20yrs, the changed formula pales in comparison to the original. Buying up the old packaging as the new one leaves hair weighted and greasy. Please change it back!

    Bathroom Cleaner Scent accomplished

I LOVED the old smell. If I wanted to smell like bathroom cleaner, then this would be the product to buy now. Think the spray bubbles you spray on the shower. This product is my favorite and works so well, but the smell is probably going to make me return it.

FORMULATION CHANGED AND SMELLS AWFUL LIKE COLOGNE

The new product formulation is AWFUL! It reeks like cologne and not like the fresh lemon scent I have used for years. I carefully read the description when I realized the packaging had changed but there was NO INDICATION THE FORMULATION HAD CHANGED. It smelled so horrible even through the packaging that I had to leave it in the garage. I have purchased the lemon sage shampoo and conditioner for as long as I can remember but I will be looking for a new option and now I am stuck with a large expensive bottle that can’t be returned.

I have used the Tea Tree Thickening shampoo for many years. I loved the volume it gave to my hair. The new formula is awful. My hair feels greasy after 4 hours. No volume or lift with the new formula. I am now looking for a new shampoo.

I’ve been using Lemon Sage for many, many years because it really added volume to my thin, fine and I never had to change it up. Whatever has been done to it with the new packaging and scent has left me completely disappointed. It does not give me the lift that it used to. I have some waves, but they are almost nonexistent with this formula.

I’ve been using this religiously for a couple years and have always loved it. I didn’t think anything of the new bottles until I opened them and it’s terrible now! The smell is so different and now smells like hotel soap, not the clean lemon sage smell. Terrible. I will sadly be finding a new shampoo/conditioner immediately.

Very disappointed that formula has changed. Long time user of this product. Lemon scent is gone. If you liked the original, you may not like this new formula. Buy a small bottle first before going for a big bottle. I don't write reviews but I was driven to write this one. So disappointed. Why mess with success and change such a great product? Someone really missed the boat on this change!

I have used this shampoo for quite some time and was so happy with it. I recently ordered a big bottle and the formula has changed. I am allergic to one of the new ingredients and can't use it anymore. I will be returning the product. So disappointed with the change.

I just bought the shampoo and thickening spray a couple of weeks ago, please don't ever stop making this. I usually don't do reviews, I have thin, fine hair, and I've been using a prestige brand, and always felt like it left some residue on my hair. This shampoo smells wonderful and the results are unbelievable! My hair feels REALLY clean. Even in our hot humid Texas weather, it's just a miracle! Thank you!

    Refreshing and Strengthening Shampoo

One of the main benefits of this shampoo is its refreshing effect. The combination of tea tree oil, lemon, and sage gives the hair an incredibly pleasant and invigorating scent throughout the day. Every time I wash my hair with this shampoo, I feel a surge of energy and freshness. Additionally, the shampoo lathers well and rinses out easily without weighing down the hair. It’s perfect for daily use, and I’ve noticed that my hair looks healthier and shinier.

This is the best shampoo and conditioner I’ve ever used. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now. It gives my fine hair body and shine, eliminates frizz, and styling it is so much easier. I will try the styling spray next.
