Terrible Teribble
The new scent is completely horrible. I had to throw it in the bin. Where's the lovely lemon smell gone? After years of using this product I will not buy this anymore.

Disappointed in new formula
New formula is terrible. I have been using this shampoo for several years and have loved it. I wasn't concerned about the new packaging, assuming the shampoo formula was the same. Upon using it the first time, I experience a burning sensation around my ears, found that my hair looked flat, and needed to be washed again the next day. I tried to continued using it as I didn't want want to dump $100 worth of shampoo and conditioner - but my hair texture is getting dry and rough, and I am experiencing more hair loss in the shower. Whatever changed in the formula is very detrimental to my hair - and sadly I will need to start looking for another brand.

:((( want to cry
Absolutely disappointed. Even cried today: the smell is terrible, like dishwashing liquid, the formula too. Where is that refreshing delicious aroma and shampoo structure?! The sellers in the store lied to me again: the same shampoo, nothing changed, only the package. I understood from the first time that something has changed. I don't know how to wash now my hair: this new shampoo smells awful, and shampoos from other brands don't suit me, I've been using only the old version of PM Lemon Sage for over 15 years.

Was best ever shampoo now ruined and cannot use.
Took a perfectly excellent product and ruined it. The smell is so strong it sets off my asthma. Can no longer use a product I have used for years. What a shame.

PM Ruined a Good Product. Why?!
I have been using Tea Tree Thickening Shampoo, Tea Tree Thickening Conditioner, and Awapuhi Shampoo for over a decade. These new formulas, like all the reviews below state, is horrible. Bad smell, bad formula, etc. Seems like this unneeded change was done to a lot of PM's products. Seems like a move so bad I had to look up and see if Paul Mitchell had been bought up by a Private Equity Firm (which are known for buying successful companies up, to only lower quality and costs to make a fast profit then let the company die and use the debt for other investments via the confusing system that is our economy). Paul Mitchell, please return to the old formulas. (Note: Not sure why, but after I posted my first bad review I was unable to leave further reviews under my old Nickname. Since I want to review all 3 of the products I used, please know these are not spam reviews.)

Formula changed, best shampoo ruined
Been using this shampoo for almost 20yrs, the changed formula pales in comparison to the original. Buying up the old packaging as the new one leaves hair weighted and greasy. Please change it back!

Bathroom Cleaner Scent accomplished
I LOVED the old smell. If I wanted to smell like bathroom cleaner, then this would be the product to buy now. Think the spray bubbles you spray on the shower. This product is my favorite and works so well, but the smell is probably going to make me return it.

FORMULATION CHANGED AND SMELLS AWFUL LIKE COLOGNE
The new product formulation is AWFUL! It reeks like cologne and not like the fresh lemon scent I have used for years. I carefully read the description when I realized the packaging had changed but there was NO INDICATION THE FORMULATION HAD CHANGED. It smelled so horrible even through the packaging that I had to leave it in the garage. I have purchased the lemon sage shampoo and conditioner for as long as I can remember but I will be looking for a new option and now I am stuck with a large expensive bottle that can’t be returned.

New formula awful.
I have used the Tea Tree Thickening shampoo for many years. I loved the volume it gave to my hair. The new formula is awful. My hair feels greasy after 4 hours. No volume or lift with the new formula. I am now looking for a new shampoo.

Forced to Change
I’ve been using Lemon Sage for many, many years because it really added volume to my thin, fine and I never had to change it up. Whatever has been done to it with the new packaging and scent has left me completely disappointed. It does not give me the lift that it used to. I have some waves, but they are almost nonexistent with this formula.
