The 10oz FUNtainer® Food Jar with Snack Top from Thermos® brand is vacuum insulated to keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold-and since it's designed for kids it's also colorful and fun. Send them to school with their favorite soup so they can enjoy it fresh and hot at lunch time. If they're in the mood for a cold snack, pack it up with yogurt and berries, or apples and peanut butter. The FUNtainer food jar is light weight and compact with a push button lid so it’s easy to carry and open. The clear top lid includes snack storage and a plastic folding spoon. Kids work hard and once lunchtime hits, they need the healthy stuff to power them through the rest of the day. This handy kids food container has a wide mouth, which lets them gobble and gulp their food right out of the bright-colored jar. To clean, you can pop your FUNtainer food jar in the dishwasher; however washing by hand is recommended.

A: This product keeps hot for 5 hours, cold for 7 hours. Generally when the food is extremely hot, it can cause condensation to form on the interior surface of the food jar.

If you’re not letting boiling water sit in it before you add the hot food, it’s not going to keep the food warm. It’s not supposed to keep it piping hot like it just came off the stove, it’s supposed to keep it warm enough to be comfortable for a child to eat. It’s only supposed to keep it warm for up to five hours so based on some of these reviews, expectations are way too high for a little 10 ounce thermos. Personally, I put boiling water from my electric kettle into it and let it sit while I’m heating up the food and then fill it all the way to the top. If you let air in there it’s going to make the food less warm. I think it’s fine and my daughter loves the snack top and the built-in spoon holder. It’s not a high-quality spoon, but it will do for now.

Keeps Food Cold/Warm
This item does exactly what it is supposed to. When I want to keep items cold I put the jar in the freezer and then fill it with whatever items when I’m ready and they stay cold for at least 5 hours without an ice pack. For hot items, I warm them up and place them in the jar. The hot items stay warm for 5 to 7 hours. Great product for packing lunches.

Also, the rubber piece in the center of the top is hard to clean.
