Q: Is this only for use indoors or can it be used outdoors?
A: Thank you for your question. The Gathered Home Baby Gate is for indoor use only and should not be used outdoors. Using it outdoors where there is exposure to precipitation and moisture may cause the metal to break down and/or rust.

Q: Is this gate sturdy?
A: Thank your for your question, The Gathered Home Gate is certified with the Juvenile Product Manufacturing Association (JPMA) and meets all ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials,) requirements for children's safety gates. It is intended to be used with children between the ages of 6-24 months, based on average development.

Q: Does slide open or swing open?
A: Thank you for your question. The door panel within the Gathered Home Panel is a one-directional swinging door. It does not have the ability to slide open.

Q: can this be mounted at the top of stairs between a wall and banister post? is there a bracket across the bottom of the opening that you can trip on?
A: Thank you for your question. Because the Gathered Home Baby Gate is a hardware mounted gate, it can be used at the top of a stairway. It does, however, contain a threshold bar the would require stepping over.

Q: How does this gate expand to 60 inches
A: Thank you for your question. The Gathered Home Gate consists of three sections that are tri-folded in the packaging. When you remove the gate from the packaging, simply unfold the two end panels as far as needed to reach 60 inches. Please note, the gate will only fit a space of 72" in a straight line. To accommodate smaller spaces, the gate will be arced as the end panels will not be completely extended.

Q: Does this gate require screws to be mounted?
A: Thank you for your question. Yes, the Gathered Home Gate does require being attached to a solid surface, such as a wooden stud, with screws.

Q: Can you put the brackets on the bottom close to the floor
A: Thank you for your question. The gate mounts are affixed to the gate frame and not removable. We do not recommend altering the gate in any manner.

Q: Can the whole gate be removed just leaving the brackets on the wall if needed?
A: Thank you for reaching out to us with this question. Yes, the gate easily removes from the mounted hardware by simply releasing a button on each mount, allowing it to be folded and stored.

Q: Can this gate be adjusted to fit an opening that 61”w?
A: Thank you for your question. The Gathered Home Gate fits spaces between 38.3 and 72". It will fit your space of 61". It will require an angle being placed into either of the pivot points and will not fit in the space straight across.
