Q: How does this gate expand to 60 inches

A: Thank you for your question. The Gathered Home Gate consists of three sections that are tri-folded in the packaging. When you remove the gate from the packaging, simply unfold the two end panels as far as needed to reach 60 inches. Please note, the gate will only fit a space of 72" in a straight line. To accommodate smaller spaces, the gate will be arced as the end panels will not be completely extended.

Q: Can the door be moved to one end of the gate, rather than the middle as shown?

A: Thank you for your question. The door panel cannot be relocated. The two side panels contain the fittings that attach to the wall, therefore, they must remain on the ends.

Q: What are the dimensions of the mounting bracket? Can the mounting bracket pivot? The photo shows it pressing against a door jam. My situation will require it to be a 90 degree angle to the door jam.

A: Thank you for your question. The upper mounting piece is approximately 3.5"H x 1.5"W. The lower mounting piece is approximately 3"H x 1.5"W. They do not have the ability to pivot and do require being installed onto a flat surface. The gate has the ability to meet the mounting pieces at an angle. The gate does not need to be installed with the pieces pressing against the door jam; the location for this gate just happens to be located directly next to a door jam.

Q: can this be attached to a bannister?

A: Thank you for your question. The Gathered Home Gate requires a flat, solid surface for mounting. While it can be attached to a banister, the surface of the banister must be flat. Additionally, the gate must be attached to the banister by using the screws that are included in the hardware package and cannot be mounted without drilling holes into the surface.

Q: Our opening is about 3 1/2" short of the 72" ... Can the 15" extension pc for the Deluxe Decor gate be used for the Gathered Home gate? if not is there an extension that works with the Gathered Home gate?

This is the best gate ever. Tried different types and they couldn't hold up to the super strength of our baby, now 19 month old. Easy to install, you'll never have worries about collapse and you can use with one hand. I had it over a year and bought another to expand her roaming area. No chipping of paint, rusting, no finger pinches (They designed it so it's almost impossible to close little ones fingers in unless they are in the very top locking mechanism- big plus). Don't waste your money on other gates like we did. This one is the best. I never write reviews but this product was worth my time.

I bought this because I needed something for my banister to wall situation. My banister and wall do not line up properly. Also, I have baseboards which makes installing baby gates impossible. Because the spacing between the wall and top of the stair is only 3 inches I needed a gate that would jut out a bit from the stairs. I bought this, though pricey, and noticed how sturdy it is considering how lightweight it looks. Just make sure to gauge the size and shape of the gate before you start. I opened mine up to the size and shape I needed before installing. Lining up the nail template was pretty easy. Just place the template as close to the floor as possible, roll it up, and while holding it taut, tape the top in place. Now you can make the markings for your nails. Drill the correct pieces in place and then attach the gate to the anchor points. I like this feature because if I ever bring in larger items, I can press on the anchor buttons and remove the gate without removing the nails from the wall. The auto-close mechanism is awesome for when you are rushing out the door and baby is close on your heels. It took me a total of an hour to install the gate, not counting the installation of the banister attachment. Not a lot of walking space, but it works for us.

Here's a tip: measure your opening up at the height where the gate will be mounted. If you're purchasing this for a 72 inch opening but your walls aren't straight, you will have to add a board or purchase the extender (which will make the gate bow out) to make the gate fit. I initially thought the gates were a bit short but it turns out my walls are not straight. The gate is very nice, just taking off one star because there is absolutely no wiggle room for a 72" opening.

Although this gate is adjustable - it is not adjustable in a telescoping way. If you need it smaller it must stick far out into the room which makes it very impractical in many locations. None of the descriptions on any of the websites I searched made the method of adjustment clear. If you have a 72 inch opening or close to it then it will work fine. If you have something on the smaller end of the range and there isn't room to have a structure sticking out into the walking path then this pass this by. The gate does seem solid and opens easily with one hand, as well as look nice. That's the only reason I did give it 2 stars, despite my utter irritation that we wasted a lot of money on something that we can't use anywhere in the house due to the description not being clear.

I got this Toddleroo baby gate about a month ago and I am in love! It has such an upscale visual appeal with the matte bronze and it adds a great security at the same time. It ranges from 38 1/2 to 72 inches in width for those long entryways. The installation is super simple and it is 38” tall from the highest point of the gate to the bottom.
