Each of my kids have one on their bed. My old mattress cover was shot. I threw it out, shampooed the mattress stains, bought this new cover and put it on top of the still damp mattress. Within half an hour, the dampness had wicked clear through the cover, the sheets and even the blanket. It's a nice, thick cover, but it is definitely not waterproof.
