A: YES, it is waterproof! EXCEPT when washing instructions are not followed! If any type of bleach is used, it will degrade the waterproof layer! If you wash in hot water, that doesn't mean you can dry on any temperature. Low or Delicate temperature in a home dryer is NOT equal to same temp in laundromat dryer, as they're always set hotter. Washing instructions are not suggestions...

Q: I washed this in a top load washer and when the washer more cycle was done it actually was full of water ( absorbent!) but too much water to put in dryer as it was just leaking water. I had to ring it out and eventually got it dry. Is this normal?

A: Same thing happens when I wash ours in a top loading or the front loading at school. I just turn back (if it was turned inside out) and run an extra spin and drain cycle or my spouse just wrings it out by hand. When this happens, I remind myself that it's actually a good thing, because it shows that the waterproof layer is still fully intact.

A: Hello, we advise that our products be laundered according to the care label: Machine wash hot with like colors, do not bleach, tumble dry on delicate/low heat 60+-6 C or 140+-10 F. Max dryer exhaust temperatures vary by brand. It is recommended that the lowest dryer temperature be utilized and that the item be removed when it is dry rather than when the dryer stops running, do not iron.

A: Our mattresses are 12", and it fits perfectly, because the elastic pulls any excess material underneath the mattress. If your mattress is less than 12" then it just covers more surface underneath the mattress.

It slugs in nicely but overall very uncomfortable mattress cover. Hot temperature traps inside, quilted top somewhat feels uncomfortable because it has a mix of cotton and vinyl feeling to it.

Not all Allerease are created equal.
Not as good as my other Allerease mattress protector. I have the Ultimate Cotton version, which fully encases my mattress. While washing it, I thought it would be nice to have a spare cover since these take forever to dry (you can only dry them on low heat). So I bought this one since the Ultimate Cotton was not in stock. Although it is comfortable, I do not trust it as much as my Ultimate Cotton Allerease mattress protector. This one is very thin. So thin I can see through it. But afterall, it is a spare.

RUINED a brand new mattress.
RUINED a brand new $1,700 organic mattress. Washed as directed and acutally doubled up using two of these protectors on my child's bed, just in case. He ended up having an accident one night and it seeped through through BOTH protectors. The bed reaks of urine now. WILL NEVER USE this company again. So furiuos as we trusted this brand.
